There is alot of love for Aaron and he came up huge in the playoffs most of the time but if the right deal in Morey's eyes with Aaron included should he pull the trigger? There have been a few trade ideas with him and Battier going to Portland for Bayless/Rudy F. and Outlaw or Flopzilla this made me think is he untradeable or TRADE BAIT!!!???

Nobody on the Rockets roster as current should be untradeable imo

Well of course if its the right deal in DMs mind he will make it. Thats why he would deem it the right move.

I was for dealing Brooks before all this Yao news and Ron leaving came out. Now he is a building block and we definetly have the time to see if he can take the next step. I think thats why we will deal neither Landry or Brooks just because we can afford to see how they respond up until January and then make our move.

Everyone on the roster is tradable. The ones that are not hurt, of course.

I like Brooks and he played much better than I thought he would last season. That doesn't make him untradeable IMO. His stock may be as high as it gets. If we can swing a great deal and Aaron is part of the package, then that's business. Unfortunately, he's not a great passer, he's undersized, and he can be a streaky shooter.

For the good of the team.

Oh, he's definitely tradeable, and maybe I'm just stating the obvious here, but I think he's only tradeable if we're getting a PG in the trade somehow...

I guess I am just not comfortable giving full control of the team to Lowry even though I do like him just not sure about it right now. If we get a point in return maybe otherwise it better be a great deal for me to be all for it.

You make a good point. I'm not sure I feel giving complete control to Lowry, either. Meaning...the PG we get in return would have to be a good, starting PG.

Before Yao went out, I was a lot more enthusiastic about seeing Brooks get dealt while his value had peaked, in favor of a purer point guard whose strength would be passing and getting the ball in Yao's hands in easy spots for him. Now that Yao's out though, I think Brooks and his style of game are important to us than ever before, and that also means that his potential (in terms of value he might afford us and demonstrate towards other teams in a possible trade) might still have a year or two before it maxes out.

That all being said, he's still not untradeable. It just means that he just got a lot harder to trade from our standpoint, because his value to us as a player is suddenly much more than his value as a trading chip.

Our most tradeable commodity is undoubtedly untradeable. Absolutely. Why would you even question it?

Are any of these actual trade rumor or are they just ideas floated in this forum? I'm leaning towards their origin being on this forum.

For the right price, anyone could be traded in the team. The team needs a superstar and the only way to get one is giving up quality players. Brooks is young and has a bright future. Teams would want him in their roster.

congrats on your new rep points

absolutely right...no one on this roster is beyond being traded if the right package comes along.

The only reason we shopped brooks is because Morey felt he was possibly getting something better with Rubio...I disagree though

Now that our future is uncertain, mainly the status of Yao, Brooks is seen as a potential future building block for the team. Although, his cred is extremely high, so it makes sense that Morey would be open to exploring any opportunity that came knocking with Brooks involved

Brooks is our best trade asset, however with Yao out, I think Brooks is untradable in the off-season, however he is probably most certainly a trade for the deadline.

We need his offense now, and because of that, his trade value (which is already high) is going to sky rocket. Either he or Scola will average 20ppg, and this will not go unnoticed to the rest of the league.

If we can get the right deal for him once his value raises, we will be the eventual winners in 2 seasons.

you know? I love brooks and his game. but sometimes we put too much emphasis and overrate our own players, i guess its a natural thing. But Every player including Scola is a trade asset. If you told me we could get chris bosh for t-mac and scola you do it. bosh is an all-star and only 25. if you could get a deal say rudy fernandez, jared bayless, and joel pryzbilla for shane and brooks. you do it. you always try to improve.

do not think so. Especially since the rumour of AB and Battier for Rubio.
