Led by Rockets CEO Tad Brown, our Rockets Aaron Brooks, Carl Landry and the legendary Clyde Drexler have visited China this summer for a charity event. Brooks and Landry visited Xi An on Thursday and took some funny pictures. He said being the starting PG for Rockets and won a playoff series motivated him. http://glasssong.blog.sohu.com/128198645.html
This Guy's seem like good friends out & inside the court, hopefully they can continue to grow together here with the rockets....
freemaniam, any idea if more NBA players are going to come to Hong Kong? I can't believe I missed the news about Kidd and Artest and even kobe coming here.
Doesn't hurt Rockets' PR with the fan base in China. What I want to know is if this trip is any indicator of AB and Landry's status with the franchise, or if we just didn't have any other volunteer(s) to go.
I knew Kobe was coming to HK (I believe he will come to Asia again next year) but I have no idea Kidd and Artest were coming too. And their event took place at APM where I have dinner there almost every night. Hong Kong media sucks, isn't it? Chris Paul is heading to China to promote his Jordan shoes for sure but didn't see HK in his itinerary. p.s. I thought you were out of town studying, just back home for the vacation?
It was supposed to be a huge event. Since Les and a corporate from Taiwan (Uni-President China Holdings Ltd) had formed a charity fund in China last year to build schools for children. This summer, the fund was supposed to hold a friendly match in China with a number of Rockets players participating, Yao, Brooks, Landry, Battier, etc. It was cancelled since Yao did not recover as scheduled. More info about the fund, they organized an event where each point Rockets scored in 08-09 season, they will donate money to the pool. Eventually, our players played 95 games last season, scored 9259 points and gathered RMB2,725,900. 10 primary schools and some sport facilities will be built in the rural areas of ShianXi. http://www.1fen100.com/cishan.asp
