He said he isn't retiring yet.

He would be awesome with these type of gritty players on our team!

Why not just keep Adelman then?

As long as we are being creative here....

I saw it on TV that this guy says he's coming back to the game he loves.

    **** that

I would not support a Sloan coached team

I couldn't root for a team of cheap, dirty, p***y players

I like Sloan, but I think a nice young coach would fit what we are trying to do

If Les' problem with Adelman was not playing young players and sticking with the vets to win games, then hiring Sloan won't solve anything. They're both old school HOF coaches that will do whatever it takes to win and hold preference for vets over young guys. The only difference is Sloan would slap Squid upside the head each time he cries.

Sloan will be a gem if Rockets can get him. I think he will be interested especially if Yao can come back.

This...different coach, but same situation. Both of them are better of in Miami, LA, etc..

I agreed that this team have exactly the type of players Sloan want....gritty hard-nosed blue collar guys.

I'm not liking that I agree with this. rox4lyf had a good point, though, about playing the young guys. Sloan has the same mindset as Adelman (and any great coach) when it comes to winning games. He's a stubborn old **** who isn't going to be naturally inclined to just go along with some baby-faced stat geek's plan to rebuild a team. Jerry Sloan already knows how to win lots of games with a roster of hard workers. That's his appeal. But he is probably not going to be super-cool with trotting Thabeet out there 82 times in a row, if that's truly what Morey and Les want to see.

If we're truly rebuilding, though, it doesn't much matter who the coach is. We aren't going to be winning a whole lot. I'd prefer to stay out of the lottery forever, but it takes top-five picks to draft a superstar or trade for one. Might have to go ugly to get lucky. Sloan ain't the man for that job.
