    Bring back Hakeem!!!!

I think I have the answer to Yao being out. Well, maybe not THE answer but AN answer.......bring back Dream!! Now, before you dismiss my idea as just some fairy tale wish, think about the logic. Bringing back Hakeem would solve these problems:

    1. As much as I love and respect Deke, he can only give us so many minutes per game, maybe less if we make it into the playoffs. If we brought back Hakeem, he and Deke could split minutes. I guarantee he could get about 8 points, 5 boards and a couple of blocks in about 20 to 25 minutes a night.

    2. He could keep us from having to play smallball. Let's face it, smallball will only get you so far in the playoffs. You're much better off having a big man to depend upon. It doesn't even have to be a superstar big man, just a guy who can fill the post. Hakeem could do that.

    3. Hakeem could finish his career where it started; where it should have been finished. Be honest, how many of you long time Rockets fans still get upset thinking about that last, wasted year in Toronto? Man, I know I do. Most of the time, I just pretend it never happened, but whenever I see a picture of him in that Raptors uniform, my heart gets a little sad.

    4. It's freakin' Hakeem Olajuwon!!!! I'm telling you, Hakeem is worth 3 or 4 wins just on reputation alone. I think he'd kind of freak out some of these Western Conference centers.....at least Shaq anyways. :) Plus, I just really need to see Hakeem put the Dream Shake on someone just once more in my life. Seriously, there was nothing better than watching him shake and spin while some poor fool tried to find out exactly where his jock fell off.

Well, I hope no one takes this post as if I don't love my Rockets and what they are accomplishing right now. 13 is a great number, and I think we can still make the playoffs, I really do. But bringing back Hakeem could only help things, plus it would right so many wrongs.

it will take him a week or two to get into game shape. I wish we could pass on this idea to Morey. :D

The best post of the year! I just plan to start a thread "Bring back Jordan!", but I can't. I'm still a rookie. How can a rookie start a new thread? Please help.

I know he plays basketball at the gym I go to. Haven't met him there yet, but I'll be sure to ask him if I see him.

Another thing since Dream is slated to go into the Hall of Fame would that mean they would have to rescind his induction?

This would be funny if it were a joke but its not so its just pisses me off. You say he would easily average 8 pts 5 rebs and a couple blks in 20 minutes. Then why the hell did he only average 7 pts and 6 rebs in his final year? That was 6 years ago. I'll say that again ... he last played six years ago and didn't average what you guarantee he could. Deke is pushing it on age and has played well past many other centers and Hakeem is four years older than him and Hakeem suffered from many injuries.

I love Hakeem and don't like bashing him but I also don't like idiots bringing up a possible comeback that isn't possible. Not to mention I find it disrespectful to him to even consider this.

Seriously, if Dream came back he would get killed. I don't care how in shape he is he would get killed by the vast, vast majority of the post players in the league.
