There are plenty of reasons to be disheartened by the Texans and nobody can be blamed for being disappointed or disillusioned by what's happened with their season through 3 games. This is not that thread. This thread is a place for positive vibes moving forward through what looks like another tough year for Houston Football fans. - This team is 2 decent lineman away from being 3-0 The Texans losses are by 5,1, and 7 points. In a game of inches the hurries and sacks that just 2 decent lineman added to this team might avoid would likely be the difference in 0-3 and 3-0. - Things should only get better from here Caley should only get better as he settles in at OC. Ditto for Stroud learning the offense and Ersery, Higgins and Noel getting acclimated to the pros and earning the trust of the staff. The Texans just need to weather the storm. - Flaming out this season brings on an easier schedule to iron out the kinks next year Whether Caley gets his footing and is back or the offense is terrible and he's fired, next season should bring an easier schedule for the Texans to tune up against in the hopes of making a run.
The teams we played are something like a combined 7-2. We lost all three games essentially on the final drive. 2 were from fumbles in the red zone on go ahead or tying drives. The third was because we couldn't tackle a slippery quarterback (with the heart of a champion, by the way) on fourth down. That being said, we can stand to keep ourselves out of those positions. But call me optimistic. This team was always going to be worse in the first half of the season. Tougher schedule. New offensive line. New offensive coordinator. While 0-3 is surprising, 1-2 would not have surprised me one bit. It is what it is. It doesn't mean our season is done.* I'd actually rather have had them struggle early. *If we go out and lose to the Titans, the season is done and Caserio will be fired, imo. We should win by at least two scores Sunday. If not, I'll be more worried.
