Guys as much as this loss hurts our future is bright. There are just too many positive things to build from for next year.(unfortunately it always seems like "next year" is our year for all Houston teams)

    BUT...

We have Howard and Harden locked up for a few years, this season was their first playing together, players actually want to play in Houston again, we have Dream helping Howard, players have gain some experience and knowledge of what it takes to win a playoff series and if that dagger from Lillard doesn't inspire/motivate them (harden) to play team defense next year I dont know what will.

From day one that Howard signed with the rockets everyone was counting them out in the 1st or 2nd round unfourently the "experts" were right but in today's nba we need that 3rd scorer/star that we will hopefully get this off-season. Rome wasn't built in a day and not even the big three in Miami won it their first year. Sad day for rockets fans but happy and exciting days ahead for our team and all Rockets fans that's for sure!!!!

    Go Rockets! !!!

The future is only as bright as the guide we have to lead us there.

What good is a race car in the hands of a 10 year old?

It sucks because you never know what may happen next year. We had a good year in terms of injuries, that scares me in the future. You never know, that's why you have to seize the day. We didnt

All growing pains from a young team and injuries are out of everyone's control. Heck even the Dream had to go through some heartbreaks and disappointments before he won.

Said the same about Yao/T-mac after they lost to Dallas.

Turns out, that was one of their best shots to go all the way during their entire careers.

Can't take anything for granted... and the Rockets thought they would be able to run/gun in the playoffs as much as they did in the regular season. Took them 3 games before they finally figured out that they'd need to execute better in the half-court... you could actually see "improvement" all the way through game 6, but this team needed to be playing like this long before the playoffs.

Wouldn't be surprised if injuries play a serious role next year and if Mchale is coaching it's a automatic first round exit. I hesitate to name call but Mchale is just plain stupid.

It's sad because we really did get better as the series went on.

Wasted a great series from Dwight.

Portland, a young team with no playoffs experience just closed us out in 6 and you think we have a better future than them?

We all know that we have Dwight and Harden locked up for few years but this off-season is really critical, Dwight will be 29 in December and we need new change as soon as possible, it all starts with new well experienced coaching staff.

    I don't agree with that.

Guess we'll see, I think they were lucky to play a team that plays just like them. The Spurs/Mavs are going to contend the three point line. Not let LMA get to his spots and double him conveniently. Close out on every shooter. Pretty much expose this team.

Don't get me wrong, they would have done so to us too. Although there is that thing that Harden has always played extremely well against the Spurs too...but still...

I think this was as good a matchup for the Blazers. I think the Rockets would have won this going away if they weren't so insanely hot from three...but when a team is hitting like that it's hard to beat them.

If I'm the Blazers I'm more worried about the Spurs. One thing that won't happen is all the blown leads. The Spurs play value every single possession. They are a basketball machine. Their team isn't even that talented on paper but they get it done thanks to coaching...

Our future is as bright as our next coach. That will determine whether we are just playoff fodder or legit contenders year to year.

Crap coaching is what won the Blazers this series. Their future is not brighter than ours. It was their year. Jack Ramsay's spirit carried them tbh.

Lol, I remember a thread like this after the 2005 Mavs/Rockets series. Felt the same way back then too. Had Yao and Tmac both around 25 years old locked up. Was feeling pretty good about the future. Boy was I wrong. Hopefully this duo stays healthier than the last two.

No disrespect to Jack Ramsey but I'm sick of the BS. When Bum Phillips died the Texans still got their azz whipped. When Al Davis died the Raiders beat our azz. Houston teams just seem to be cursed...

Yeah but those guys got hurt.

I feel different about it too...we have a GM that will not sit around. This will be Morey's biggest year.

I wouldn`t say the future is bright. I´d say we are only 2 steps away.

We need another very good starter, probably at PF. Maybe we can get that 3d star, but a guy like Millsap might do the trick as well. And we need a real spark of the bench like Crawford is for the Clippers.

And we need better coaching. Maybe McHale learned a lot during that series and is a better coach next season - but I guess Morey will take a long hard look at who is available.

So the future could be bright, if we can take the right steps. There are about 8 teams in the NFL right now that are either at championship calibre level or only away a couple of steps and we are one of them. We took the hardest steps, but we are not a finished product.

and i can't say enough that Harden really really disappointed
he'll get hammered until he plays defense consistently and improves to carry the team in the postseason

Daniels for Gracia and Brooks for J.HAM.
Every team wants experience in Playoffs but HOU did the opposite.

It should be Howard's team until Harden plays D.

SVG is a better coach than McHale.
