...to take a Laker front office position at 37 years of age.

    That's kind of young, no?

EL SEGUNDO – Lakers guard Brian Shaw is retiring after 14 NBA seasons to take a front office position with Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old Shaw won three NBA titles in four seasons with the Lakers. The team planned a news conference for Wednesday to announce Shaw's new position.

The 6-foot-6 guard was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1988 out of University of California-Santa Barbara.

He played with Boston, Miami, Orlando, Golden State, Philadelphia, Portland and Los Angeles, and averaged 6.9 points in 943 NBA games. He averaged a career-best 13.8 points for Boston in 1990-91, his second season.

So what were your favorite Brian Shaw moments?

Mine was when he was (briefly) a Rocket.

Mine was when the Rockets won the second championship, and they showed the Magic gather at midcourt for their season, they showed Shaw, flinch (sp?) when the fireworks went off. :D

Was he really 6'6"? He always seemed shorter than that to me.

Spelling. As in, flinch may be spelled incorrectly. (In this case it's spelled right, I think.)

My favorite Shaw moment was the one where he was Shaq's mouthpiece. Oh, wait--that was EVERY moment.

Man. I don't got any favourite Shaw moment. Can't stand the player. As far as I'm concerned it's about time he retires.
