He is released by the Wizards. Can the rox use him? He is a pretty good defender. His assit/to ratio is pretty good too.
Wizards release Knight Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Washington Wizards released guard Brevin Knight on Monday. The move was announced after the Wizards 111-106 overtime win against the New Orleans Hornets. Knight did not play. The Wizards and Knight mutually agreed to a buyout of his contract for the remainder of the season so that he can pursue other opportunities in the league. "Brevin was extremely professional in his approach to the game and we wish him the very best as he pursues other opportunities in the league," said Washington president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld. Knight averaged 4.3 points, 3.2 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 32 games this season with Washington, which acquired him on November 5, 2003 in a trade with Phoenix for center Jahadi White. Might not be a bad addition to the Rockets, still young and is a true pass first PG. Any thoughts?
We have no need for a Brevin Knight. The guy is a terrible outside shooter, although he can pass a bit. Basically, he's a younger Mark Jackson. Better athleticism, but worse passing skills. Damn, what we need is a Matt Maloney.
i really like brevin's game and think he would be a nice fit on the rockets. its definitely worth a shot.
Brevin Knight would be a nice pickup. He'll definitely be an upgrade over Wilks and can provide some insurance in case Mark Jackson's body give out later in the season. He was really good his first few years in the league before all those injury problems. Positives Excellent passer few turnovers (3/1 asst/turnover ratio) Good decision making Negatives Small size at 5'10 Below average shooter at .418 career fg% Injury prone
Whatever happened to Brevin Knight's brother? He graduated from Pittsburgh last year I think... I've not heard his name since.
I didn't know he had injury problems. He was a good, promising guard early in his career. I think there is some potential for him being good again.
He was doing very well under Fratello's really really slow offensive system.. if I am not mistaken?? or was Fratello already fired then? about his shooting.. .I am so tempted to give steve a low blow there.... I think he is just the odd man out in washington... they have gilbert who is playing excellent, and then blake who they probably want to see more of what else he can do. Besides, people who dared to go to college and have spent a few years in the league, they are considered old and has no future or potential.. unless they have been superstar So I am pretty sure he is not in Wizards future plan.. you know the wiz are always playing for tomorrow even if they suck today. Probably Brevin just wanted to get to a contending team.
He is a steal and assist machine and even though he does not have a three-point shot, I liked his game (pass first, shoot second). I'd say pick him up if we didn't have Jackson already...not sure if we should have yet another point guard.
I absolutely love the guy to death; Brevin Knight is one of my favorite players in this league. However, I don't think he'd fit here. We need a point guard who can shoot if the offense is going to run through Yao. Seriously though... if I was any team that didn't have Yao, Shaq, or Duncan on their roster, I'd be all over Brevin right now.
