I have always like this guys game. At 6 6' he has handles leaping ability and is a dead eye shooter. I think he is just what the Rockets are lacking right now. I think a moochie trade or cat trade, would make this happen. Oh.. by the way, the boy can pass too. (ie 13 dimes last night verses the Port.)
Problem is, they don't need/want Mooch and they donn't need/want Mobley. If Mo Taylor had put together a very good string of games, something like 16ppg, 6reb, 50% shooting, maybe we could've pulled it off. This idea's been discussed to death. I've yet to see a decent 3-way where everyone would benefit.
Sane, I had suggested a 3 way which I thought was atleast plausible a couple of months back. Ofcourse, this was back when a sizable chunk of posters were still saying "Dont trade Mobley for Barry, Mobley is as valuable is Mike Finley, blah blah blah". The deal I suggested at the time was: Heat Get: Cuttino Mobley, Calvin Booth Sonics Get: Brian Grant Rockets Get: Brent Barry Obviously, this deal will depend on how much the Heat value a player like Cuttino Mobley. Seattle wouldnt mind moving Barry if they can get the tough rebounding, defensive presence that they need up front esp considering Desmond Mason is ready to step in as a starter.
I like that idea. Move Mobs to the bench and bring in Barry. I don't really want to get rid of Mobs. I just want his role to return to what is was before (supporting player). I have aways thought that it's good to offset players hight and weight accross the starting line-up. Have them strengthen each others weaknesses. Not replicate/copy each others strengths. For example, if you have a short point-guard, off-set that with a taller shooting-guard. Or vise-versa. If you have a thin/tall small-foward, off-set that with a shorter power-foward (but heavier/stronger).
mobely = finely? NO WAY! and I do agree Brent Barry is under rated, he was the few player that avg 5+ rebounds, 5+ assist and 10+ points among kobe and macgrady
He can dunk too! And shoot! ANDDDDDDDDDDDD HE CAN DANCE! Mobley does not equal Finley at all. Finley is way better. But I think Mobley is a little better than Brent Barry and Wally Szcesaribak. The Yao Ming stoppers are Theo Ratliff, Brian Grant (kinda), Raef Lafrentz....and anyone who is quicker than Yao. Anyways, it would be nice to have Brain Grant. NOT CALVIN BOOTH!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH
eric dampier stopped yao couple of times. yao, will you please use your hook shots when playing against shot blockers. your turnaround shots are blockable.
