I have no link but I do know that he moved out of his House in Houston and him and his family are moving back to San Antonio and that his kids have been enrolled in schools in San Antonio. Maybe he just hasn't announced it yet?

Even if he retires, his salary or buyout will still count against the cap. I wouldn't conclude he's going to retire based on him moving out of Houston, he still owned that house in SA and this is his last year in Houston so it makes sense that he would be moving at some point any way.

May I ask how you know? Are you his next door neighbor or something?

    I'll reply to this again.

Barry decided to keep his family lived in SA, as not to interrupt their schooling, while he played in Houston. That's what he told the SA media.

Also he lives in California during the off-season.

Would you pay 6 months of rent for nothing?

I be;ive he signed a three year deal. He's not leaving themoney on the table even if it was the minimum.

I said this several times last season: Brent Barry should retire because he has no business being on an NBA roster. I didn't have a problem with the Rockets signing him but it was a mistake.

Retirement is a good idea. It's too bad age caught up with him last year. If he was a year or two younger he'd have been a perfect fit.

It's funny how the Rockets always sign the Barrys at the tail end of their careers.

Every single deal Morey has made that they tried to bring in an old guy they thought had more tread on the tires has failed.....

    Mike James
    Steve Francis
    Brent Barry

    Ugh.

Mike James and Steve Francis weren't old....

Brent Barry in the other hand....

What confuses me is how Morey said it is very valuable that a team have a free throw clutch shooter. I don't think I EVER remember seeing Barry in the closing seconds where we are about to get fouled.

Morey is a rookie GM, and himself never played professional basketball...

I think the Mike James failure was due more to a rotation issue and the talent on the team. Rafer Alston was outplaying every guard including Mike and was given the nod to carry the position.

However, we do know what Mike brought to the table when we first traded him.

I do agree with the Steve Francis failure and that is tough to swallow, because I did want Stevie to revitalize his career.

    Time happens. Players break down.

Edit: when we first traded for Mike. Milwaukee, right?

Don't put this all on Morey. Signing/trading for old veterans that produce zero to negative production runs in Rocket blood.

    Charles Oakley
    Eric Piatkowski
    Adrian Griffin
    Derek Anderson
    Charlie Ward
    Rod Strickland
    Antoinne Carr (ugh)
    Glen Rice
    Mark Jackson
    Clarence Weatherspoon

    Good point.

I think Derek Anderson would have worked out with Coach RA. I think there was a personality clash between JVG and DA. I thought he was a good pickup that year, but unfortunately, the lack of playing time and bad shot selection during those precious minutes sent him packing. Didn't we get some Miami scrub in return? Ugh.

Don't forget CD's deals for old guys also. Mutombo, Bob Sura, Dion Glover, Charles Oakley, Charlie Ward, Clarence Weatherspoon, and Tracey McGrady have all ended up being past their prime with nothing left in the tank.

Correct. We traded him for some little known rookie scrub named Gerald Fitch. Anderson's knees were already pretty shot by the time he got here but he still produced a decent effort in the limited time he saw. A calf strain was his final straw.

For every one of the bad signings I mentioned there's always a few diamonds in the dust.

Deke- There's a reason why everybody want's to sex him.

Jon Barry- Might have had his best/most memorable year with us in 04-05. I think we're all down on Brent cause we wanted him to be everything Jon was.

Bob Sura- Also might have had his best/most memorable year with us in 04-05. WB super squad FTW!
