I think the Rockets should put up one of those "rollercoaster height" signs outside the locker room saying: "YOU MUST BE THIS YOUNG IN ORDER TO PLAY THROUGH INJURY THIS WEEK." (Also, by sitting David Andersen, the Rockets must CLEARLY be tanking!)
So can we stop disrespecting David Andersen now??? Seriously, he could end up being a pretty important piece to any trades the Rox make this summer.
Why? The guy was a total chump when he is not hitting shots. Considering he can't defend or rebound worth a damn, hitting shots is his only redeeming feature. If he fails to even do that, the only thing he can do is foul someone 6 times.
I wonder if there is a deal in the works for him to be bought out? He could take a zero buyout to go back to Europe....he can probalby make more money there. DD
Brother can hit shots. Just not the long distance ones that many were expecting him to be able to. But his mid range game is sick.
I believe his contract is only partially guaranteed, correct? If so he might be a nice filler in a mega deal. Oh yea and the disrespecting comment was sarcasm.
He started to hit the 3ball late....up to 34% for the season which is a pretty good percentage, better than Kmart and Trevor. DD
Something tells me he will not be a Rocket next year and he will be perfectly fine with that. Some real good Euro players just never adjust to the NBA. I personally thought he would have been a decent PF If you had a rebounding/shotblocking Center playing with him. His best interest is for the Rockets to find a team who needs a solid 4 and give him some playing time or let him go back to Europe and win some more championships.
His rebounding hasn't been as bad as advertised. He basically rebounds like LaMarcus Aldridge and much better than, for example, Carl Landry. His shooting also picked up later in the season. If he can continue to improve his percentages, I think Adelman will find uses for him. It's not like he is paid much anyway.
I don't think the guy did all that bad... He did what I thought he was going to do.. Start off very slow and then gradually pick it up closer to the end. This is just typical European players in their first year. It takes them to adjust to everything; surroundings, food, NBA style of play, teammates, etc..
I know he was improving before he got hurt. My point was that if doesn't make shots, consider he can't contribute anywhere else, he is useless as a player.
The thing is there will be no next year for him in Houston. We will be stacked at the 4 spot, and he is not the 5 that we need on this team. If he was in our long-term plans he would put an Icy/Hot pad on his back and stick it out. I believe him and the Rockets management have a deal worked out for him next year already and the back-pain thing is just an excuse to let Hill develop.
