    Good article.

I'm so happy for those who will be going back home to their lives, families, communities, or to start over.

Imagine 1 day in Iraq as a US soldier. Think about it.

Who cares? There's an Islamic Community Center to argue about.

Do 50,000 troops remain on bases across Iraq or is there going to be a complete withdrawl of all bases.....with only the largest embassy in the world remaining in the heart of Baghdad?

Dude, don't screw this up. Clearly, Obama the Mauzlim is trying to distract everyone's attention away from the community centre by withdrawing the last envoy RIGHT NOW.

a commenter at black five sums up my thoughts rather well:

Personally, I'd like to thank everyone I served with there. In spite of the negative stories we would watch in the chow halls, read in the internet cafes, or hear from our families back home; we maintained our morale and punched the clock proudly everyday.

I believe that we were right in taking out Saddam and liberating Iraq. Certainly I wish that all strategies/tactics implemented would have worked flawlessly, but "real war" is not scripted, nor does it begin or end with great fanfare. So with that, we adapted and moved out.

To all those in Hollywood, the media, Gov't, and our civilian population that did and continue to undermine our military and the wars we fight. Go **** yourselves!

The perfect fusion of hollywood, media and the government, that ended up undermining the military, killing thousands and thousands, appears below:

"turn that aircraft carrier so that the sun is BEHIND the photo shoot!" "The Sailors madet that banner themselves!" "Ghostrider the pattern is full!"

Hope you enjoyed it , basso. I sure didn't.

Of course this includes chickenhawks who claim so much support but refuse to serve and feel no shame over this.

Of course American soldiers will still be killed despite not being called "combat" forces. Also some reports are that we are upping the number of paid mercenaries from corporate sources.

If we spend a hundred billion/year less and lose half as many lives there, then I'd think it's a good start.

Nobody was trying to "undermine" the military. Disagreeing with the lying pricks who got us into the war in Iraq =/= undermining the military. This is the whole ridiculous, flag-waving, Dixie-Chick-bashing mentality that we need to get past. If this person is trying to say that we need to support every war, regardless of whether they are right or wrong, just because guys like Bush and his cronies think it could be profitable to fight them, then I suggest he go **** himself.

Whether or not some soldier thinks it was the right move doesn't change the facts: lawful nations are not supposed to start unprovoked wars with other nations; and we didn't liberate Iraq, life is considerably worse for most women and for all the people who now live with the daily threats of terrorism (not to mention the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis).

Attention Caregivers at the Sedona Nursing Home for the elderly and delusional: keep an eye on your clients. This one got ahold of someone's blackberry and began typing gibberish.

I think the claiming of credit was the issue.. Very well, I award him a vintage 2003 era self-thumbs up!

Never let it be said that I am loathe to give credit, where it was disastrously and prematurely claimed! HIs credit account is now veering out of overdraft status.

The whole whiney "undermining" the military routine again? Seriously?

What is this, 2003's greatest hits?

Anybody who still can't differentiate between criticism of policy and criticism of the military needs to go do a tour of duty in dumbf**kistan and never come back.

The single most harmful thing that happened to the US military in the past decade is this:

This is good news for sure but I agree with Glynch on this one. With 50,000 troops still there we are going to continue to be in Iraq for years to come.
