TORONTO (AP) -- Toronto Raptors center Antonio Davis has a torn triceps muscle in his left arm, according to two Web site reports.

TSN of Canada and CNN/SI reported Monday that Davis had an MRI exam following the Raptors practice and the tests revealed a tear.

gee that probably didn't happen when Dike was punching him and throwing him to the floor 3 or 4 times in a row.

    Davis has strained left triceps

    May 15, 2001

TORONTO (AP) -- Toronto Raptors center Antonio Davis has a mildly strained left triceps in his left arm and is expected to play in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

``I´ll be starting tomorrow night,´´ Davis said. ``I don´t know about my effectiveness. I´m going to go out there and bang, and help my team as much as possible, but there is a little bit of pain.´´

TSN of Canada and CNN/SI reported Monday that Davis had an MRI exam following the Raptors practice and the tests revealed a tear.

``I don´t think they said torn was the right word,´´ Davis said. ``It´s pretty much just aggravated, and it´s pulled. It´s just not working properly. ... I have to ice it as much as possible, get some treatment and basically suck it up.

``There´s no time for a pain. We got a game to play on Wednesday and that´s all that matters now.´´

    The series is tied 2-2.

Davis is averaging 16 points and 11.8 rebounds against Philadelphia. He played 44 minutes in Game 4 on Sunday and had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

He said he injured the arm in Game 2.

``I heard something kind of pop, but it was just sore at that point,´´ Davis said. ``It was like a nagging injury, but then when we got to the game on Sunday it was really starting to bother me, but it wasn´t something where I couldn´t move the ball up or down.

``I could still the shoot the basketball. It´s just inside when you´re trying to bang against a bigger guy. Some of those tools that you have, you can´t use now.´´

It's probably the play when I think it was Dike who fouled him and before Antonio got to the line he was stretching his left arm and shoulder like he was in pain.
