I've said it before AND I'll say it again, we have the players it's our coaching and the system! We can't blame KPJ or anyone else on the roster.
yes, you can blame KPJ specially for his stupid late game decisions, like the classics hero balling and losing it, or his specialty the brick three.
I don't blame the players. I don't blame the coaches. I blame their parents for waiting too long to have children. If all these guys were just 2-3 years older they'd be playing a lot better/smarter. i.e. THEY'RE YOUNG AND MOST OFTEN, THE YOUNG GUYS LOSE IN THIS LEAGUE.
If it works, it works, if not, you move on....we aren't really worried about it this year, but yeah our system sucks. DD
Coaching and half these guys would be Juniors or Seniors in college. That said, KPJ is probably not the answer at point guard, but rather a starting 3 or 6th man.
I'm willing to give KPJ a shot "off-ball", but I'm 99% convinced he ABSOLUTELY has to be moved. Inefficient scorer. High turnovers. Ball stopper. Atrocious defense. Culturally, its a BIG PROBLEM, depending on the "strength" of that voice. His voice seems fairly strong organizationally - by voice, generally meaning how everything seems catered to him. If he moves off-ball and that improves 2 of the 4 above, and he is more of a "role-player", fine. Otherwise, I am perfectly happy to never watch another second of KPJ in a Rockets uniform. All of which is somewhat aside the point of the thread. Yes, coaching and system MASSIVE problem.
This is not how the blame game is played. You blame coach and management and then blame the millionaires or to be millionaires. But alas blame everyone else but the millionaires....
If he is, he's terrible at it. Sengun, Jabari, and Tari are the only players on the Rockets that play significant minutes that are more likely to turn the ball over than to get an assist.
It's hard to continue being patient when there is so little progress. The turnovers, the bad shot selection, the bad body language and the pointing and pouting are consistent, what does Kevin actually do well?
It’s never just one thing coaching 50% roster MGMT 35% players 15% Jalen and KPJ need to take more responsibility and be better team players. Stone needs to consolidate around his best prospects and balance the roster. Silas needs to do a better job developing our players and putting them in position to maximize their strengths.
We can blame lazy effort. Poor body language. Poor court vision. Bad defense. Pathetic ball distribution. And even worse post game excuses. Yes sir smiles-a-lot should be blamed for his lack of system and his sole play call of high side pick and roll with two real rollers on the team yes, Stone should be blamed for his catering to a player that only cost him a second round pick. For drafting too many shooting guards in too short a time span. For drafting 7 first round draft picks over two consecutive drafts and trying to develop too many players at once. but yes, we can still blame a guy who blames the holidays for poor play.
Jabari needs to get better and the offense should look for him more. His role on this team is of PJ Tucker status.
Developing…he is what he is…he is not a point guard. Look at reality. Santa is not real and KPJ is not a point guard
