Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall(notes) will very likely be catching balls for another NFL team when things get started next season, according to the Denver Post.

He completely cleaned out his locker yesterday - even taking his nameplate -- so it doesn't look like there will be any love lost from his end if he gets traded elsewhere.

"Appreciate being here for four years and the opportunity to still play football," Marshall said as he split.

Of course he did a similar thing back in June when he walked out of minicamp. But this time appears to be for good. Marshall will be placed on the trading block along with tight end Tony Scheffler(notes).

Now obviously WR is a strength for the Texans but this is an opportunity to get a great young player cheap. Trades in the NFL are few and far between and are usually for lower draft picks. Broncos have little leverage here since they need to move him and everyone knows it.

So would you give up a first rounder, second, third, fourth, or he's a baby TO cancer no thank you?

Just imagine AJ on one side and BM on the other. I would think denver would want a WR in return also.

Jecoby Jones + 1st round pick

Brandon Marshal + 3rd round pick

And im gonna add, if we have these two there would be no reason to run the ball anymore.

Cribbs just seems to be a KR specialist. In three seasons he's rarely been used as a WR.

Getting him would be interesting, but I have a hard time seeing the Texans giving up much to get him due to the strength of the receiving corp.

The talent is never questioned but I cant imagine what a diva wide receiver would do to the Texans

Nah Bob wont settle for his off the field problems and antics he's been known to show.

Also to consider - he is looking for a new contract.

Well, now is our chance. We would be set at KR, PR, and #2 WR.

My money is on him playing in D.C. for Shanahan next season. Santana Moss looks less like a star WR every seasons and I don't think Malcolm Kelly nor Antwaan Randle El is the answer. I could see the Redskins going QB in the first round and trading a couple of 2nd's for Marshall.

I never understand the NFL. You would rather have a 1st rounder who you have to pay a bunch who will luckily be a starter instead of a guy who you know is a probowl caliber player.

I remember that marshall faulk went for like 3rd round pick.

I voted 3rd round pick, assuming his contract isn't horrible.

WR is a strength, but if the going rate is low enough, why not? It would literally give us the best passing offense in the NFL, IMO.

We do need somebody more explosive at the #2 wr but Marshall wants to be the man and not in AJ's shawdow.

If we had Marshall...game over against every secondary in the NFL.

There will always be a CB2 on either AJ or Marshall. Mismatch.

Can you imagine a singleback offense with AJ, Marshall, Owen Daniels, and Jacoby Jones lined up alongside one another. Honestly, who the hell is going to guard these guys? Thats 3 probowlers and an emerging receiver/playmaker.

Definitely would give a 3rd rounder if not a 2nd. You are getting one of the top 5 WR in the NFL. It doesnt matter if WR is a strength or not...when you have a chance to dominate, you go for it.

Agreed with everything said here. Having a super-unit of receivers would completely overshadow any lack of running attack. Just look at the Arizona Cardinals.....

I would rather have Jacoby as the number 2 receiver. Cribbs is more of a #3 slot-type, in my opinion. But, with his running ability, return ability, receiving ability, qaurterback skills (and the guy still has some...I don't know why Cleveland didn't look into this...), and typical good character, he's someone I would love on this team. Cleveland is smoking something offering him so little. It should be a crime. Especially in a potentially uncapped year. Must just be that Holmgren doesn't like Cribbs' style. If not, and he's actually trying to keep the guy, I don't know if Holmgren will fair well in Cleveland.

I actually made the joke to a Browns fan earlier this year:

Me: I think the Browns are gonna change their name.

Browns fan: Seriously? Where'd you hear that? What are they changing it to?

Me: The Cleveland Joshua Cribbs'. They're just gonna put a picture of him on the side of their helmets, because he IS their whole team.

    And that is the truth.

So, given a choice, I would rather ultimately have a guy like Cribbs than a whiny mini-TO like Marshall. If it ain't broke then don't fix it. Adding a Marshall-type is something you only do when you're trying to fix something. A Cribbs-type all-around player is just a little whipped cream on top of an ice-cream sundae, so to speak.
