Brandon Jennings an Option in 2014?

Brandon Jennings was the first player to play a year in Europe instead of going to college until eligible. Apparently Brandon Jennings is again willing to do something unheard of in the NBA. Brandon will be a restricted free agent in the off-season, but instead of signing the best offer sheet he can sign, and hoping Milwaukee does/doesn't match it, (like Eric Gordon, Jeremy Lin, & every other restricted free agent ever) Jennings is saying he is willing to play for the 4.3 million qualifying offer without signing any other offer sheets and become an unrestricted free agent.

I'm not the biggest fan of his game, but you have to respect his guts and conviction if he goes through with it. If this happens could Brandon be a Rockets target? How much is he worth?

If the Rockets are waiting until 2014 to spend big money on a free agent, they are not doing it for Brandon Jennings.

He turned down the offer 4000/4yr. Why is the post even here?

There is no point in signing players who won't make us contenders. Jennings, Ellis, Jefferson, Smith, Millsap, etc. We need to be patient and wait for something better, or better yet, stay pat with our current roster. Parsons is already becoming a star right in front of our eyes. Let's just wait.

Let the Nets have him. They are a dumb enough organization to do it.

    Beat the Heat.

I don't think he'd fit on the Rockets but would like to see him on the Pacers.

Judging from reports I honestly think he doesn't want money. Bucks offered him 40 million/4 years which is a lot of money for a 4th year player. If he took it his contract would expire right when he's entering his prime and he could possibly be demanding a max contract like Josh Smith or Dwight.

Instead I keep hearing him say he just wants to go to a winning team. He doesn't care about the money or the fame. In his rookie year I remember him saying something like, "I don't care about the rookie of the year award. I led my team to the play offs." Imagine him helping take his team to the playoffs (and almost winning a series) his rookie year and the following years not making it back? Must be pretty frustrating.

Jennings probably cares about his money an awful lot, but it wouldn't surprise me if he cares about winning way more. I've also read that he doesn't care about being the man on the team.

Not saying I want him on the Rockets. I liked him his rookie year, but I havent seen much from him this season. I believe there is a chance that Morey is looking at Jennings, but he is probably somewhere in his peripheral view.

I wish clutchfans was more nicer to the people who make threads. This is a fun topic to discuss.

Sorry for the double post, but this is an interesting article on Yahoo! about Jennings and his current situations including interesting quotes.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--b...ll-be-final-straw-in-milwaukee-002908645.html

Jennings is averaging 18.4 points, a career-high 6.6 assists and 1.8 steals this season. He believes he has proven he is more than a score-first point guard since the All-Star Break by averaging 17.6 points and 10.4 assists while shooting 48.8 from 3-point range. Jennings says he'll be more pass-first minded from now on.

"Everybody says I'm just a shooter, I'm just a scorer," Jennings said. "But if you go back to my high school days, I've always been a pass-first point guard. Now that we got J.J. [Redick], who's a good scorer, now I'm just looking for options all the time.
"Basically, I should have been doing what I've been doing the last three months. Is it too late? I don't know. But maybe it's a good way to start showing what else I can do."

I like his game and I think he's often overlooked due to the # of quality PG's in the league. He would definitely be an upgrade over the guys we have but like someone mentioned earlier, I would much rather go after some of the other guys who'll be free agents in '14 (LeBron).

OP may interpret his words wrong, Jennings wanna more lucrative contract, meaning craving for a max.

"the Bucks' offer must be lucrative and there needs to be changes in the roster and the organization to make it championship caliber."

He said himself he wants the max. He is not worth that amount. He has shown no signs of changing his ways over 4 seasons in the league and has led a perennial 8 seed Bucks team.
