He'll be out of action until at least late next season but my guess is he will miss the whole season and possibly pitch in winter ball.

Backe was looking really good last season in his limited time. It's a shame he got hurt.

I have heard that he will be out until 2008. Didn't Pettitte have the same surgery in 04? he was ready to go for the 05 season. Not sure why Backe's time out is expected to be longer.

We need him. Expecially come playoff time.

Historically, recovery from TJ surgery takes around 20 months.

Pettite did not have TJ surgery.
