    Torraye Braggs (2003):
    One rebound every 3.8 minutes
    One point every 3.8 minutes

    Clarence Weatherspoon (2003):
    One rebound every 4.3 minutes
    One point every 4.0 minutes

    Clarence Weatherspoon (2002-2003):
    One rebound every 3.4 minutes
    One point every 3.9 minutes

    Clarence Weatherspoon (2001-2002):
    One rebound every 3.8 minutes
    One point every 3.5 minutes

Torraye was beating out Clarence's stats this year, but matched up almost exactly per minutes vs. previous years.

    I agree.

Braggs was some muscle inside that we seemed to need but were quick to get ride of.....

That is not a fair comparison. Those numbers for Braggs are based on only a handful of games. Spoon was able to put those numbers up over the course of an entire season. There is a big difference between the two. The fact is, Spoon has proven to be a very good rebounder in this league over the course of his career, while Braggs hustled his way to some impressive offensive boards in a few games.

Why does everyone love Braggs so much? From the games I saw him play in, he was a decent rebounder, but was useless offensively. Countless times you would see the ball bounce right off his hands after a pass thrown straight at him, or watch the ball fly past him because he was out of position.

I don't know about Braggs, but Spoon has more career assists than Moochie! :D :)

    But seriously...
Braggs is younger, quicker and a better perimeter defender. Weatherspoon has a better low post game and much better hands.

When Torraye Braggs was in the lineup, the Rockets were 8-4. After Maurice Taylor replaced Braggs, the Rockets went 8-10. These records are misleading because the competition in the first 12 games was much lighter than the competition in the last 18 games. But, it shows that Braggs added something to the team. I think that Weatherspoon can play a similar role that Braggs did.

    I like the trade...

Mooch was only in his 2nd season of his contract and Ameachi wasn't doing nothing..

Weatherspoon has 2 more years plus he's another verteran player that this team can use... Everyone should know JVG coached him...

So JVG must have an idea how to use him either on the court or possibly his vet. leadership in the clubhouse...

At 6'7/270 PF, you have to be a workhorse type player or he wouldn't have lasted this long...
