Who is the better player now, and who do you think will have a better career (barring major injuries) ?

I gotta go with Beal. Seems to have a better all-around game compared to Klay.

I'd go Beal now and in the future for the better player, but Klay is the purer shooter

I would go klay for his defence and fits the team he is on far better than beal.

Klay's playing crazy well right now, but I have to think that Beal will end up being a better shot creator long term.

    Klay Thompson is overrated.
Klay and Curry are great when they are on fire, but when they aren't they can shoot you out of games.
I'd rather have an all around player that's quality of play game by game isn't entirely dependent on how their jumper is doing that day.
Just look at Harden. If his jumper isn't falling and the refs aren't giving him free throws he's worthless out there.

Right now? Klay Thompson but it's really close. Klay is in a system where he can shoot whenever he wants. He is going to be the better shooter but I don't like his all round game as much as I like Beal's. I think Beal can be a top 5 maybe 3 shooting guard in league in a couple of years, when Kobe retires and Wade gets too old. He too is a pure shooter and I wouldn't be surprised if he shoots better than Klay one day.

Klays got good size for a 2 guard…he is just so streaky & seems to only shoot jumpers instead of driving to the basket to get fouls called like Beal who can already create a shot for himself also

    Beal on the other hand.

I love Beal's game, but Thompson is a hell of a shooter. It will probably depend on the context or team and system of which they play in; and I think both teams do a good job of utilizing their strengths.

8 years later tho, i'm picking KT

    Have you seen Beal play?

Wouldn't be surprised at all if he surpasses Harden for best two guard in the NBA.

As crazy as this might sound, I think you may be right. 3-5 years from now he just might.

Beal is already a little better in my opinion because he's the better all around player. As time goes Beal will only increase the margin. Klay turns 24 in a couple months. Beal is still only 20. That's a big difference.

LOL wut? So you're telling me Harden will have an off night and won't drive to the rim? Did he also forget how to pass and create for his teammates?

I think Klay is better because he isn't undersized and has potential to be a better defender. Amazingly Beal has the better all around game despite being 4 years younger, however the fact that his J is very erratic means he has to rely on his athleticism and keep driving it in to score, which as we saw with DRose and Wall doesn't really do much for the longevity of your career. I think Beal has a higher chance of getting injured than he does of surpassing Harden. Sadly that has already been done by Paul George (IMHO).
