The rest of the teams left in the toury better fear this guy. He is a genius.

He is pretty good , to get Butler to the Final Four in consecutive years is impressive.

But don't underestimate HOFer coach Jim Calhoun (UConn) who has won 2 titles . Made it to 3 Final Fours already.

He's done a good job taking a small program far in the tournament in back-to-back seasons. I cannot, however, call him the best coach in college.

    Put it like this...

he's already a better in-game coach than John Calipari...

Morey needs to hire this guy as RA's replacement or an assistant.

'Zona just got knocked out, but in terms of up-and-comers, Sean Miller's a hell of a coach too.

The one (sort of) knock on Stevens is it's sort of hard to evaluate his abilities as a recruiter because Butler isn't a huge program. Not sure if he stacks up with the likes of Calipari, Wright, Matta etc. in that regard.

I think that, just based on his success, kids will be killing themselves to play for him. Butler better hope that they can keep him.

With today's win , Jim Calhoun has now made 4 Final Fours ......pretty amazing to lead UConn to that many final fours and already won 2 titles @ program in the state of Connecticut.

Stevens also has the feel of a guy who will stay put at Butler, too. Maybe not for his entire career, but I honestly don't see him leaving for at least another few seasons. In this regard, I find him similar to Mark Few at Gonzaga.

Like Few, he has to be thinking "if I can get my team this far and I like it here, why would I leave?" Obviously the money would be better, but the pressure would also ratchet up.

I hear you and hope you are right. Mark Few is a very good coach. But I believe Brad Stevens is a truly unique talent with a higher calling. He might stay at Butler a few more years, but I doubt that will be his career.

Back-to-back trips to just the Sweet 16 will work wonders for recruiting. Big conference or not, what he has been doing will transform them into a powerhouse for awhile. He might not leave.
