I like Brad Miller but he's not the future; someone needs him now... like Chicago who just lost Noah for two months.

We could send Miller to Chicago for someone like Ronnie Brewer.

Or package C-Bud with Miler and get back Taj Gibson to go along with Brewer.

This would assume we pick up Gortat or Thabeet of course. I'm willing to ride out the season with either Gortat/Thabeet, Jordan Hill and Chuck Hayes playing the 5.

Give Miller a chance to finish his career on an uptick.

Just restless with the status quo.

No, we need Miller's veteran leadership to teach our young Bigs. Just look at how much Hill has improved and it is largely thanks to Miller. Noah is who he is now because of Brad.

I guess those are reasons I think Chicago might be willing to overpay for Miller. The deals I proposed fly on RealGM but I don't know how realistic talentwise they are.

I look at that roster and other than starters don't see much of anyone I'm familiar with or think I would want.

In our situation, it's time to plunder. Dream can coach Hill who I want to keep.

Not sure why people think we are going to trade people we just acquired.

Miller will most likely be used as a teacher for our next big to play the Adelman high post role effectively.

And you think Hakeem will be coaching Hill at every practice and during games? no..I don't think so.

Circumstances changed. It's not about this year anymore. Miller is a consumate pro but I doubt he can teach more effectively than the coaches. He can do and demonstrate and that would be missed on the court but in the long term does that really matter? I'm thinking not-- especially if someone really needs someone like him.

Nor is Brad Miller. Isn't he practicing and playing too? I'm just saying that coaches coach and players play. It's one thing to have someone like Deke "coaching" from the bench but Miller plays significant minutes.

So we give up Miller because he's not the future, to gain 2 players from chicago, who are part of their future?

They have Gibson and Boozer to hold down the starting spots and that 7 footer on the bench. They'll be alright while Noah is gone. They're not giving up their some of their future to get an extra 3 wins over 2 months.

    Circumstances certainly did not change.

I can guarantee you every move they made they kept in mind that there was the distinct possibility that Yao was not coming back.

Brad Miller would not be earning his paycheck if he played in any other system.

Miller is here because he can age well in Rick Adelman's system. He is not here to be with a contender. He knew what he was signing up for when he came to Houston. For him its great because he knows what is asked of him and the style of play takes away from potential injuries and overuse he might recieve on other teams.

On the Rockets end of things as a player....Trust me, guys like Jordan Hill, and now TWilliams will need guys like Miller around or things could get out of hand and the Rockets will look like the Sacramento Kings of new than the Kings of old.

Now Shane Battier on the other hand.... He really only has a year or two left in him and does not fit in well with Rick Adelman's Princeton offense without a dominant Big in the paint like Dwight Howard or Yao Ming. In Adelmans offense, the wing players need to be quick enough to be able to move quickly off screens, get to the basket, and hit jump shots. No Yao should = no Battier.

Taj Gibson is young and will be a GREAT role player on a team for years. He's expanded his game alot since he has been in the league. They are not going to give him up for Rad Tad Brad Miller, sorry.

Interesting that Miller is seen as both unmovable and too valuable to be moved.

Three more wins might mean home-court advantage in a couple of series.

I don't know the proper compensation, but I'd consider moving him for pieces that bode well for the future. That may be his lasting contribution to the Rockets.

If we keep him, that's okay; it just means that he's more unmovable than valuable.

Last week we had Morey making coaching decisions (J-Taylor) and now we have Adelman making GM decisions. I'm sure the info flows in both directions...

I guess if we don't pursue a new center in the next couple of weeks, you'll be proven correct.
