To kick off this 100th thread of the day, i'd like to look into the idea of not playing Miller in back to backs as well as Yao. Instead, have he and Yao alternate back to back games so as to have one or the other playing. The Rockets can do this because they have the talent stewing over on the bench waiting to play. It is not Brad's fault that Yao can't play back to backs, why should he have to? From what i've seen in these first 2 games, Hill and Patterson could have handled the load. Maybe this is the solution that the Rockets need to get everyone somewhat sufficient playing time? IDK, i'd like to think so.
The center rotation SHOULD be Yao, Miller and Hill. When Yao doesn't play, Miller and Hill should split the time. I love chuck but I am TIRED of seeing a 6 6 center trying to protect the rim and rebounding. Miller isn't a defensive presence but Hayes won't be doing 16-8 very often and Hill can block shots and rebound. Hayes should be our backup PF, no doubt, but enough with the center position.
I'm not sure if you're serious. The smiley throws me off. If you are, then I totally disagree with you. I agree Hill should get more playing time however. Whether it's Brad fault over Yao's injury has nothing to do with whether he should play or not. He should play because he's healthy enough to and doesn't have any real injuries. I'm sure Patterson understands the fact that he's a rookie, there are already great established players ahead of him in the rotation, and he has to have known that through training camp. At least get through the first half of the season before you start complaining as a rook.
Don't forget Patterson, who is also a budding defensive player who can shoot. As i mentioned, we have the talent to pull this idea off. We won't be playing the likes of LA and Miami every night, so let's go for it.
Patterson won't get much playing time, being a rookie who is more of a power forward then center. Morey has constantly said, PP would get VERY little time this season because we are so deep.
I'm sure Patterson isn't complaining. He's to professional for that so early. I'm just saying that at 34 years old you don't bounce back as fast as before. Maybe he's tired after a game the night before. Maybe! As far as Hill and Patterson, they should be playing. They could not have done worse than anyone else last night and it was obvious early.
We should just not show up to the games that are back to back. Take the loss...our players need the rest.
I'd be OK if we play Yao and Miller alternatively in back to backs. Start Yao one game and Miller the next. Chuck played well last night but he should not be starting at center.
But he's determined to justify his name! Coachbadly is more than a moniker, it's a way of life.
