Saw this on EPSN, Lock if already open... Here's our freshest dose of free-agent chatter culled from conversations with a variety of knowledgeable sources -- team officials, coaches, players and agents -- plugged into the league's front-office grapevine: Boozer Utah is telling teams that it doesn't want merely to shed payroll in a Carlos Boozer deal. The Jazz want to come away from their eventual Boozer trade -- preferably a three-teamer to increase the likelihood of saving money -- with a rotation player. Luis Scola has been mentioned as a target Utah covets, but sources with knowledge of the Rockets' thinking say emphatically that Houston is not interested in joining the Boozer hunt. Miami's interest in Boozer, meanwhile, inevitably would spike if the Heat managed to steal Lamar Odom away from the Lakers. Acquiring Boozer between now and February also would give the Team USA power forward full Larry Bird rights to re-sign with the Heat next summer irrespective of where they are salary-cap-wise. But that interest is unlikely to fade even if Odom stays in L.A., given that Dwyane Wade is apparently eager to see Boozer join him on South Beach. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=Chatter-090723
No thank you. The guy has never been happy everywhere he has been. Look how he left Cleveland and look how he said he was going to opt out all year while his team was trying to win. Do we need another distraction.
It certainly be amusing to witness the change in this board's perception of Scola if he and his flopping ways get transplanted over to the Jazz.
Boozer > Scola. There's no debating that. But Boozer also makes significantly more and wants a big extension, so I understand the Rockets not wanting to do this deal.
They are around the same age and Boozer would provide more rebounds and points. It wouldnt feel right having Boozer here but I guess it makes alot of sense. Except that he is injured lately and will he resign is the question also? Thats a good trade that I wouldnt mind getting someone in return like that but also have reservations on. I like Luis but Boozer is a All Star and I may have to set aside my feelings on the Jazz and say this is a good deal the Rockets should probably make if he works for cheaper than Tmac and Yao that is.
i found this line to be rather interesting "Luis Scola has been mentioned as a target Utah covets, but sources with knowledge of the Rockets' thinking say emphatically that Houston is not interested in joining the Boozer hunt." So the story this thread is quoting shoots down the very idea the thread is expressing...
Jeez post like this makes me wonder about some guys lol. Can you explain how Morey would be fired by upgrading at the PF position?? Especially getting a talent like Boozer just by only giving up Scola? Hmmm thats robbery.
BS alert. Boozer will never be in H-Town and the Rockets should not help Utah out. Let them and Miami deal with themselves. The Rockets should not get into a trade where Scola is part of the trade.
"I am Vinz Clortho. Keymaster of Bozer, Volguus Zildrohar, Lord of the Sebouillia. Are you the Gatekeeper?" "We must prepare for the coming of Bozer."
