I wanted to see mayweather knocked out after that entrance he pulled, but he is simply too good. I think he is the best fighter of this century. That was a pretty one sided affair.

Yeah, i doubt there is actually anyone out there now that can beat him. Maybe Oscar DLH or Antonio Margarito, the problem is that we will probably never see either one of those fights happen. I don't think Oscar will fight again, he has already sealed his legacy. And as for Margarito, at this point it seems that Mayweather may need him more than Margarito needs Mayweather. Floyd is too arrogant to admit he needs to fight someone who is actually a threat but oh well, at the end of the day he's the man that makes the decision.

I must say that that fight was not even worthy of a PPV, it should have been free on HBO. Floyd picked Baldomir apart like he was fightin an amateur.
Gotta point out the best parts of the night were Floyds enterance and of course the now infamous showdown between him and Larry Merchant at the end.

Margarito wil not be able to hit him. If DLH fights again it will be floyd.

can somebody describe the showdown with Merchant? I'm stuck out in BFE, and this computer connection sucks, and I can't load youtube.

Mayweather is the best fighter in the world today, and the only person that can beat him is himself.

Basically Merchant asked Mayweather that if he thinks of boxing as entertainment and if Floyd thinks hes such an entertaining fighter why was this fight so boring. He pointed out that people were walking out in the 10th and 11th round and that the crowd was booing. So Mayweather took that as disrespect and went off on Merchant, telling him that he should stick to commentating and let him do the boxing. Floyd said "Larry Merchant doesn't know anything about boxing"

I feel Merchant has a point though, I mean this wasnt worth ppv, it was boring as hell, the way Floyd dominated he should have knocked out Baldomir before the 6th round. Floyd just can't handle the truth because he is too arrogant, and he won't admit that alot of his recent fights have been snoozefests.

Merchant called him out, Floyd didn't like it.

I'm sorry, fellas, you can't call him as "dominating" when he doesn't even knock Baldomir down or out. If all these "dominant" fighters' stategy is PUNCH-AND-GET-OUT, then that's not real boxing. OK, the strategy worked, got him some points on the judges, and didn't allow Baldomir to hit him, but... man, WTF... it was some boring BeWLsHiEt. I can't give him credit for the run-around in the 11th and 12th rounds. I can't stand a runner. STAND UP and fight like a man. Eff the judges, man.

I don't Baldomir is a guy mayweather could knockout. When I think of pretty boy floyd I think of an extremely skilled, fast, smart fighter . I don't know if he has the power of say a manny pacquiao. He might be boring, but his skill is incredible

Ha, what a stereotypical Mexican boxing fan post - boxing is not all about slugging it out como las peliculas Rocky. Half the game is not getting hit and PBF is the maestro at that, you'd do the same (as would every figher), if they could.

 I'm sorry. I couldn't take it... you beat me up for 8 rounds... now run around in circles. Yaaaayyyy!!! You won! Great. F*CK*NG beat his ass until you knock him down. Did you ever see Tyson do the "run around" crap??? No. Did you ever see Hearns run circles around Leonard? NO. Most clowns will hit and run... hit and run... great strategy...... run around... ok... run... run... did the judges see that? Ask Felix Tito Trinidad how he beat ODLH.

Well regardless he got the W. He might be able to fool the judges, but the fans are not stupid, and you can't pay them all off. Fans were obviously disappointed with the performance. They came to see a fight, what they got was a great show of skill. Mayweather was too much for Baldy, and he easily proved it. But giving boxing lessons doesn't sell tickets OR PPVs (unless you're Oscar DLH).

No one can beat Mayweather when he boxes like that. The only way someone could beat him is if they are extremely hard punchers and a slugger. Otherwise following Floyd around will just make you look stupid and leave you open to get hit.

I personally was bored but I recognized that Floyd is just too damn good. My dad on the other hand (being a traditional mexican boxing fan) said that Mayweather sucks because all he does is run around. Merchant had a point, his fights are boring but that doesn't take away from his amazing skill. He still has to do what he must to win, hes not going to go out there and risk getting his ass whooped just so the fans can see someone get it.

Ask Felix Tito Trinidad? Sorry I can't, he doesn't do interviews.

Do you know the reason why?

    Porqueesunpocodifficilparaentenderlo

...but yeah he was a man, maybe somebody will remind him of that when he forgets his own name in a few years.

Don't be silly, SamFisher. I am talking about the fight in which ODLH ran around in circles after having won 7 rounds, only to have FT show him up and the judges admiring FT's fight instead of ODLH's. DLH ended up losing "straight up" even though he had "boxed him" for seven rounds. What did that get him? His first loss. Well, maybe last night FM's strategy wasn't to do that until he saw he had the judges had him winning. Good for FM. Gets him a win, fine. Does that get him fans? No, I don't think so, man.

That is why boxing should follow my recommendation and not limit the number of rounds. They could still take breaks every three minutes, but just keep the fight going until someone gets knocked out or gives up. No one watches boxing hoping for a decision.

Lol, FT won that fight -- period.
    __________

Now let's see the ultra-mega Mayweather vs. ODLH to end both their careers in grand fashion.

i sorta agree though, most people don't appreciate fundamentals. but that is usually because fundamentals are boring. its sorta like the NBA and WNBA. No wants to watch crappy layups and ugly shots. We want high enegry run and gun, dunks, amazing blocks and crazy crossovers.
