It is tonight on HBO at 9:45 pm est. Anyone going to watch it? prediction? I like the undercard too, they have cotto vs n'dou. I think cotto looks really solid in his previous fight. Look like he can be really good. I would love to see how he performs against N'dou. As for the main event. I think Marquez would be overwhelmed by pacquiao speed and power. IT is going to show people that pac man is a real superstar.
My roommate went to San Antonio for the Barrera/Pacquiao and said his punches were so fast it was hard to keep score. Everyone was expecting Barrera to dominate so there were lots of boos. Oh, I wish boxing were half as interesting as it used to be. James Tony getting hurt pissed me off.
I will have to go with Pacquiao as well i have seen him in a lot of undercard matches here and he is pretty bad ass.
WOW! What an exciting first round! PAC came out strong and fast. Possibley broke Marquez's nose. PAC knocks down Marquez three times in this round!! Round 2: Marquez is bledding porfusing from the nose. PAC is owning this guy. THE BLOOD. Marquez makes a little comeback, but PAC is the man. Round 3: Good round. A little slower. Marquez and PAC put on a good fight. PAC still has energy and Marquez is still bleeding from the nose. The round ends with a flurry of punches. Round 4: Slowly they are starting to fight Marquez's fight... slower. PAC still has bounce and is fighting strong!
Round 5: The crowd is trying to get Marquez in to it... PAC is still strong, but Marquez is still fighting with body shots and jabs. Marquez lands a good couple of punches to PAC but then backs off... Marquez ends the fight cutting PACs eyebrow. Round 6: Marquez stuns PAC in this round about 1:35 in it... PAC comes back strong but dazed. Marquez doesn't capitalize but both continue to fight strong. Round 7: Both fight a slower fight and both are cut. They trade consistant blows and are throwing 40+ punches a round.
Round 8: Both fight strong, but Marquez dominates toward the end. Round 9: PAC is still dancing with a lot of energy, but the fight is a little slower, Marquez calculates his punches, PAC misses a few. Towards the end of the round a flurry of punches that effect both fighters. Round 10: The round starts slow but the fight comes alive at about 1:15 in the round. Marquez is still bleeding. Round 11: Fighters trade shots throughout the round but PAC still dances and lands punches. Round 12: Thre crowd starts out on their feet, both fighters land big shots at the beginning of the round. The fight ends strong with many punches thrown. My decision is for PAC... The judges... The judges final decision: A DRAW?? both fighters keep their titles, I can't believe the 3 knockdowns in the first round didn't do it for PAC
pacquiao was robbed. 15-10 in favor of pac, and the 2nd judge 15-10 in favor of marquez. freaking ridiculous.
Marquez is made for beating pac man... and he still didn't beat him. Marquez did have a lot a lot of heart to come back from 3 knockdowns in the first round! It shows you just can't trade shot with pacman... you've got to beleive in pacquiao's power. barrera try to fight him early, got beat badly.. marquez tried to fight him early.. should have lost despite his impressive comeback. Marquez's style is just tailor made to beat pacquiao. I hope pacquiao can improve his offense a little bit, a little bit more variety he can be unbeatable at featherweight. I think pacquiao would have no problem with Morales, or really any other featherweight out there. PAcquaio should have won!!
rockHEAD, man, those pictures and round by round summary you have there is really cool.. I just saved all the pictures on my computer. I hope you don't mind. Thanks so much.
Just more proof of how crooked boxing really is. How a professional judge say that Marquez won that fight 115-110 is beyond me.
Wow. Boxing is so shady when it comes to outcomes. The judges never please the crowd it seems like these days. Frustrating bc I was going for Paquiao. Everyone gets vocal about who they're supporting bc more people put money down on boxing than other sports. Is it true or does it just seem like it?
I think there are always going to be something behind the scene whenever money is involved... Then again, some judges may just be r****ded. And there are just not a real clear unified guideline to score a fight I guess.. and a system to make sure everyone understands those guidelines, and penalize those who doesn't. I think soccer also involve a lot of bettings, maybe not in US, bu in the rest of the world.
