I didn't see this bit of news posted anywhere. No link - I just got it in my email before I left the office.

Thank goodness. I know JVG likes hustle, and Bowen certainly brought it, but JVG was giving him too much time for a while there.

Interesting that it's the 'little' practice guard and not RG.

Does it have anything to do with Ward's bum knee?

I would really like to see Dre play tonight, he is quicker than Lue and a true PG.

Andre Barret can play. IMHO, he's better than Lue, gifted ball handler with good court sense that can find his teammate, really quick.

Scouting Report: One of the best point guards in the nation ... Acute distributor, deft ball-handler ... Gifted as a penetrator, he scores remarkably well off the drive despite standing just 5-10 ... Weaves through the lane, fines holes that don't even exist ... Really loves pushing the ball upcourt and establishing something before the defense can set itself ... Has caught fire as a perimeter scorer, something guards his size often have difficulty doing ... Speed is deceptively quick, probably because he controls his motion and accelerates so smoothly ... A big-time ball thief on the defensive ends, he plays the passing lanes and also collects strips coming over as a help defender.

i hate those player scouting reports, they make the player seem too good to be true, how ideal what this guy be if he can actually live up to his scouting report..well see tonight

Regarding Jeff's post a week or so ago about having a bunch of guys with the same skills.... well that just changed. I haven't seen a Rocket push the ball up the court like that in 8 years.

    My first thought about AB:
He is hustle, has great speed, and seems like a good shooter. I give him A- for his debut.

If Barrett can keep this up:

    JJ
    T-Mac
    Yao
    Sura
    Barrett

Lineup that will result in WoW!

4 guard lineup? Not for any extended period of time. We have enough trouble defending PFs and rebounding already.
