Yao is fine and dandy for the city of Houston, but Boston will be rookie of the year for Houston.

Of course now we all have to worry if Ming will not be injured during his international play.
Someone take Ming to Hooters and a local topless club and give that man some American culture!

Any of you guys think Rudy and Cd will try to influence Ming to Defect?

welcome guru. I'm positive that Rudy and CD won't encourage Yao to defect. First, it's completely unnecessary, and second, that would completely piss off the Chinese and screw up our relationship with them. For better or for worse, that's something the Rockets and the NBA have to cultivate now. I'm sure Yao won't be the last NBA caliber player to come out of Mainland China. And if that's not incentive, don't forget how good Rudy is at plucking gems from the "CBA." ;)

I think it is a BAD idea for anyone to try to get Ming to defect. Some popular basketball agent attempted to convince Ming to defect, and Ming got seriously pissed at him. Ming likes China, and he has pride in his country. Don't try to get him to leave that.

Those types of questions should not be asked. This is a first-class organization. We do not get involved in those types of issues.
