Time to replace the 6'4'' chubby nerd who hasn't won a championship in 4 years with the 6'4'' chubby NBA great who knows what it takes to win championships (i.e. a little more than whatever Chuck managed to do as a player)? Maybe kick Morey down to assistant GM?

Seriously, Chuck is great and all, but he hardly watches any games in preparation for his TV job (and admits it), I doubt he's ready to work hard enough to be a good GM.

I loved Charles as a player and I like him as an analyst, but I also wonder if he would work hard enough to be a GM.

It's Barkley's gambling itch come back to haunt him. He kicked Vegas but it's syphoning itself off onto fantasy sports. He should just stick to something infinitely easier like politics.

I'm calling it right now. He'd make a horrible general manager. His only hope would be blind luck in the draft.

If it happens, I hope it's a team in our division or at least, conference.

I think the former-player-as-GM idea has run its course. At least with "star" players. You'll have the occasional success stories like Jerry West, but most NBAers don't seem to be capable to succeed in a more business-type job (MJ, Thomas, Bird, etc).

[Boston Globe] Rockets Great Charles Barkley says he is ready to become a GM

Who in their right mind would regard Barkley as a ROCKET'S GREAT
He was anything but great, while playing for Houston and he has regretted it ever since! :p

    Oh my damn.

He's not ready. He should start with the Clippers if anything

Man this guy is a really idiot! First of all, his tiny brain cannot run a team. Secondly, he is already assuming that he will be doing a bad job "if i get the blame".
