For God Sakes! We have a huge relatively unused stadium here in Washington DC called RFK stadium. With a little notice, it can be made into a baseball field. We also have one of the largest and richest metropolitan areas in the United States! Just do it and get it over with! Who gives a flying **** about that jerk Peter Angelos and that pathetic excuse for a franchise the Baltimore Orioles. This is just too good of an oppurtunity for the MLB to pass up.

Is Boston a large enough market for two baseball teams? I would think that the Expos would always play second fiddle to the Red Sox, in a big way.

The article says it's only for a year, so market size or "second fiddling" wouldn't matter.

But this is a great idea! Why stop in Boston? How about having them play a year in every American league City, while the Tampa Bay Devil Rays play a year in every National League city? Everyone gets to see both leagues and all teams!

RFK is not serviceable as a MLB stadium. Not enough luxury suites. DC would have to build something new as a long term solution.

Oh, I know that. And there's already umpteen groups sitting around ready to provided funding for a new stadium in both Virginia and DC. They've already scouted out locations and have hired designers! RFK would just be used until the new stadium was built. Seems like its a better solution than Portland, Montreal, Boston, or Puerto Rico (was that a joke?). It would allow the fan interest to start growing now, rather than just waste a season by putting them in a temporary city for one year.

"This could be a win-win-win for all the parties involved except the 200 season ticket-holders in Montreal,"

    200? BWHAHAHAHAHAHA

    Sorry.

Even for a year, I doubt Boston baseball fans would come out to see the Expos. It would be as lame duck as Montreal. Puerto Rico isn't a good idea either. Just keep the team in Montreal until something can be worked out.
