Why when Scola is a RFA? Boozer will cost more and Luis has been an iron man for us. I dont understand why everybody is ready to get rid of him.
In my mind, if the Rockets don't get Bosh or Amar'e, there is simply no reason to pursue another power forward. If Boozer or David Lee are better than Scola at all, it isn't by much. Certainly not enough to justify giving them a max contract. They don't even give us more size or athleticism really. As such, if Bosh and Amar'e are off the table, I suspect Morey simply re-signs Scola and Lowry (as expected) and waits to see what unfolds by the trade deadline. Players like Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony may even become available. Who knows.
one will have to sign outright with chicago the other would have to be a sign and trade i feel. this is henry thomas at his finest trying to get what he wants IMO chicago doesnt have enough assets they would be willing to trade to pull of two sign and trades. toronto already said they do not want deng and who knows if miami ever though of wanting to do a sign and trade to send wade away. chicago will not part with rose for sure and it seems like they are not willing to part with noah but after that anyone is yours. i dont see how the pieces will work unless one of the two Thomas clients agree to not be signed and traded, right now of the two it would have to be Wade who stands more to gain by relocating back to chicago, but will he. I dont think he wanted to take less than the max to begin with in miami to accomodate lebron and bosh (in that pipe dream scenario) why take 30 million less now?
