    lock if already posted

Further proof the Rockets had no chance at getting this attention w**** :p

“Really, it's all about being on TV at the end of the day,” Bosh said. “Seriously. A guy can average 20 (points) and 10 (rebounds), and nobody really cares. If you don't see it (on U.S. national TV), then it doesn't really happen.”

Agreed....and you didn't even mention the fact he paid for a film crew to follow him around so they can turn it into a documentary. If I wanted to make myself feel more important I would do the same thing.

    Well, giving that proper phrasing:
If you put up great numbers in a small market, no one will notice you and you'll be a nobody. If you take that game and deliver it in a big market, you have a chance to be known as a great.

Look at Mitch Richmond vs John Starks. Put Starks in 90s Sacramento and Richmond on the 90s Knicks and visualize how they'd be remembered today. No one would know Starks.

All that said, Bosh clearly only cared about his own celebrity. Not his basketball future. His celebrity. Those three want to be some sort of MTV reality show icons. Their image and fame matter more than winning (which they're just sort of assuming will come). Bosh in particular is showing almost no drive or determination out there. They may have issues if they can't get him to nut up.

from all I've seen of Bosh, he seems a really good guy. And very charismatic. And funny. He'd probably be quite the celebrity in most markets -- except possibly Miami, where he'll be forever in Lebron and Wade's shadows.

Bosh is not a star, he made the right choice moving to Miami where he has 2 other alpha males.

That's funny Bosh, because it looks like scoring 20-10 now is going to be difficult to do. So now people will watch as you score 11-8 now...

After that commercial Bosh made a few years ago begging people to vote for him for the All-Star game, is this really a surprise?

Looks like we got lucky by not getting this guy.

Scola cares about winning, not about his celebrity.
