Rockets should attempt to pick him up in the upcoming draft.

He is a long and athletic combo guard (e.g. Snow, Alvin Williams, etc.) who loves to pass and play defense.

Should be a VG type player.

If he falls low, he'll pull out and come back next yr. The thing is about him is everyone says the same thing. Evereyone agrees he's a multi tool player, like Morris and just like Morris, it seems he never leaves his all on the court. Thats both good and bad. It makes it seem like you're not playing hard and is in cruise control all the time.

Finally somebody noticed him!I've been saying this guy is the perfect side kick to Steve for mounths.
I'm very high on Boris cause I see him play weekly(plays for my team in France). He's been elected MVP of the French Championship.
A very good distributer, who rather pass than shoot(But that does mean he can't!).The best asset of his game is his defense,in Europe he can defend opponents 1,2,3 and 4!
As for the not playing hard thing, scouts had the same issue over TP and look what's he's doing now in San Antonio!
I'd love to draft him this year, but ain't sure he'd be able to start off right away...

Oh!and forgot to say he's been playing pro for over 3 years and he's an elite member of the Senior National Team(Junior Europian Champions).

BTW,Dreamcasting the Rockets are going to draft Diaw is good...but does anybody know/think if we're going to make any moves to move up in this year's draft?
    Is JVG a rookie guy?

I don't think JVG is a big fan of rookies. Besides, we have too many young players. We need to bring in some vetrans.

However, Boris Diaw is probably going to surprise a lot of people. He's got Bruce Bowen-like defense, with better size and quickness (physically). He can jumpt out of the gym, and contrary to the stereotypes in your heads, this guys can score. He's got a sweet jumper, and hits 3's in Europe at a VERY VERY respectable, but not magnificent, rate.

He'd be a nice player for us to have off the bench though, if we got a veteran to play the 2, and we got him to backup the 2/3.

Since the nba is really expanding, it would be nice to be able to watch some of that euroleague play. You know more than me, but thats why i think the rockets can and should move up to around 20 ish in the draft. It will be a good player who slips through the cracks . Boston and Det both have picks at 20 and 25th. Those teams might want to deal with us. Danny Ainge ain't no fool and neither is Dumars, so the offer needs to be right.

Boris is not a PG, even if he has passing skills.
He's a SF and it's his place in his team, whereas he plays sometimes SG.

A french fan of the Rox

How many times has Boris withdrawn from the draft? If he pulls out this time I think it would be the 3rd time

I Europe he does play SF,but in the NBA I'd see him play SG on D and PG on O.I think his game is comparable to Odom(point foward)...with more defense!
    He's a Pg in a SF's body(could be worst!;) )

cool, je suis pas le seul français ici !!

Concerning Boris Diaw, he is a very good, unselfish player. He does all the useful little things that don't show up on the stat sheet, and is a very good, athletic defender.
But I don't think he will be available for us, unless we make a trade.
Why not draft Luke Walton ? He's a very good all-around player and can be available at 44.

Doesn't Boris only average 5 points a game? How do you know he can score?

well, there are scorers in his team, he doesn't need to score...
anyway, his best skills are passing and defense. He surely needs to work on his scoring. But it's good to have such an unselfish player. The rocks don't need scorers, they need defense and passing...
