Trailer for this was screened this past weekend at NY Comic Con. I’ve always liked but never loved the Evil Dead series so no biggie that they are remaking it for me at least plus Bruce Campbell is producing it as well. Trailer makes it seems like they are going a lot more serious with this version. <img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://c.gigcount.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEzNTA*MjM2MzM2ODcmcHQ9MTM1MDQyMzYzNjMyOCZwPTIzNDQ3MSZkPSZnPTMmbz1iZmY*ZDg1OTBjN2Y*OTY3YTgz/NTIwNjA2MTg1MWY1YyZvZj*w.gif" /><embed width="440" height="420" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://v6.tinypic.com/player.swf?file=2jilqa&s=6" FlashVars="gig_lt=1350423633687&gig_pt=1350423636328&gig_g=3"></embed><br><font size="1"><a href="http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2jilqa&s=6">Original Video</a>

terrible? it's a welcome change, imo. there's no use in trying to take on ed's goofiness and cult classic status. was presently surprised with 21 jump street going the comedy route. hopefully a full blown horror will translate well.
I really hope there's some comedy elements. I'm tired of generic horror flicks, one comes out every week. We don't get enough horror comedies. I'm going to hold out hope. Drag Me To Hell was advertised like a straight horror, and it certainly wasn't (and it was great)
This is my problem with the trailer. It looks like another Michael Bay produced cash grab 80s horror remake.
In other news, seeing this made me think of The Evil Dead Musical, something I've always wanted to watch. Turns out they're doing a production of it off I-10 and Beltway 8.
Evil Dead 2 was a remake (or reboot) of Evil Dead. This Evil Dead is another remake of the original. You're going to have 4 films in this franchise and 3 of them are essentially the same thing. It just seems odd.
looks good to me. and along with dazed and confused and friday i think i have seen evil dead 2 most in my life.
You've got to be kidding me??? I'd rather chew on broken glass... <object id="sbPlayer" width="840" height="480" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/mediaplayer/springboard/mediaplayer.swf"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="flashvars" value="config={'externalConfiguration':'http://www.springboardplatform.com/superconfig/getr001.js','playlist':'http://cms.springboardplatform.com/xml_feeds_advanced/index/1299/rss3/584961/'}"></param><embed src="http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/mediaplayer/springboard/mediaplayer.swf" width="840" height="480" flashvars="config={'externalConfiguration':'http://www.springboardplatform.com/superconfig/getr001.js','playlist':'http://cms.springboardplatform.com/xml_feeds_advanced/index/1299/rss3/584961/'}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="transparent"></embed></object>

bumpers. this movie pretty neat. probably one of the goriest movies i've seen and the scares were legit (none of that shadow stuff or loud noises to make you jump crap). was genuinely grossed and creeped the eff out. 9/10
It was great. Nice to see a horror remake that isn't terrible. Made some nice homages to the originals while also doing its own thing. Solid 8.5/10 I don't really understand the hate for this unless you don't like blood/gore or were way over analyzing it
I like the blood/gore, thats what saved the movie for me. Guess I was expecting more out of it. Was a big fan of horror growing up, but now it just seems all the same to me.
The movie had no charm, humor nothing I saw I haven't seen in a Saw movie?? bruce campbell made those Evil Dead movies and Raimi, this version/ it's pretty generic horror filmmaking...
I thought it was f***ing awesome. But then again I'm a dude who absolutely loves over the top violence and gore. I thought it stayed true to the original Evil Dead by trying to do some whacky, way over the top stuff, but it also had some independent successes that helped make it different. Definitely didn't live up to the tagline "The Most Terrifying Film You Will Ever Experience", but I thought it was great. Truly a FUN movie.
