Guess who's coming back to town? That's right. Your favorite ex-Rocket and mine, Floppy Quitten. Here's what he had to say about returning to Portland on this Western Conference swing: F Scottie Pippen had 17 points in his return to Portland, where he received a warm ovation before the game. "It was great," he said. "It's great to be back here and see some familiar faces. The fans have always been wonderful here. They've always been very supportive of me, even back in my earlier days in Chicago, so it was great, a great welcome from them." What do you guys say we make sure he doesn't have any warm and fuzzy remarks after the Bulls lose tonight? Come on guys! Do I have to remind you about him single-handedly losing the Lakers playoff series for us, then blaming Charles and demanding a trade?!?
I blame Rudy's so called "offense" more than Pippens attitude. It was doomed to fail in the end. Predictable. Pippen: Our new Bullard.
I remember him almost single handedly getting the only victory in that series against the Lakers... Damn people, it's been five years...get over it...
I think its firmly in people's minds b/c it was the last time Rockets fans had any expectations of winning anything but a lottery ball.
No way. Part of the fun of watching the games is the heroes vs. the villains. Pippen is a villain. Just like Karl Malone. Just like Amare Stoudamire (for edging out Yao for ROY last year). And a whole buncha others who will feel my booooooooooooooooooooooo!
Single handedly? Hardly. That was the game that Barkley had like 25 rebounds and almost 20 points. That "Sir Charles Guy" had a little to do with it too, although Pippen did shoot well. I guess one good game is enough for you to forgive him screwing our Franchise. Ugh.
**** THAT! I'm motivated to buy a $10 ticket and move down to the lower level to start the "PIPPEN SUCKS!" chant.
No way...as long as he is in the league he will feel the booooo when he comes to Houston. Even after he is retired for that matter.
I feel that most all the haters here are unjustified. The Francis-haters, the Van Gundy-haters, the Olajuwon-haters, the Elie-haters. But, not the Pippen-haters. He's the one guy you can unreservedly and unabashedly deride.
What the..? The New Bullard??? How DARE you besmirch our Air Bull with a foul and unjust comparison to the vile and evil Scot Pip peen . On your knees, and beg the Basketball Gods thet they not smite you with the curse of being a Clippers fan!
Heh...no. Not I. It was Rudy that was trying to make Pip shoot 3s (like Bull). By the way, I love the "Dark Ages" talk....reminds me of Diablo II.
There were people that hated Mario Elie? I'd like to meet these people and give them a swift kick to the testicles...The only thing that bugged me about him was the 30 second release on his jumper, but other than that he was the hardest working guy on the court...Plus, he hit the single greatest shot in franchise history. Easily my second favorite player after Dream...
I will always boo the Utah Jazz I will always boo Scottie Pippen I will always boo Eddie Griffin (if he ever plays again) Hmmm... did I leave anyone out? I will probably boo Karl Malone, just 'cause he's an ass. -- droxford
Danny Ainge. Remember when he threw a ball at Horry (wasn't it Horry?). I boo Shaq too, 'cause of the time Sir Charles threw him down WWF style.
1996-1997 was my favorite Elie year. When he was on the Rox in 93 he was sloppy and clueless. He worked hard, but just had bad habits. His play in 95 was very good. But his play in 96-97 was A+. It was amazing to watch him in 93 and then compare his game in 97. It was a dramatic improvement. He was fearless AND excellent in 97. And we all know how he played in 99 with the Spurs. He tought that team how to play "mean." Especially Robinson.
Sports are one the few places we have as an outlet for our passions, Love and Hate. Booing is harmless and really quite fun. Of course you can let go to extreme like thowing batteries or getting into a soccer fight. That's why we have stadium police.
