How exactly is this the NBA's fault?

What should the NBA do? And what exactly don't you like? The fact that LA is great?

The NBA shouldn't allow 27 free throws in one quarter. If it's the Kings and Nets, like it should be, this is probably a competitive series.

Just what limit on fouls in a quarter are you proposing?

Something less than 27. Something that's within the realm of human possibility and fairness.

And how is that?? There are some people here who believed that the Kings were the better team. They are the deeper team, that's for sure, and I seriously don't think the Nets can handle the matchup problems as well as the Lakers did. Bibby torched Nash and Stockton before he had his scoring buffet with Fisher. That alone is an equal matchup with Kidd.

Go back to your "NBA wanted a Game 7 for ratings" conspiracy before the crybaby pictures pop up again...

Cat's entitled to his opinion. It's not like anybody's going to change that.

    Just let it be.

Even if the Kings dominated the Nets as strongly as the Lakers are, it would still be more entertaining than this LA-NJ series. You'd have two teams run by great point guards without the distraction of a big center knocking people down and going to the foul line.

If it were the most entertaining series ever, I think many people, including myself, would still hate it because of the bitter aftertaste left from the Lakers-Kings series. How much interest can you maintain when you genuinely feel that the Lakers didn't get there honestly and are a mere formality away from an illegitimate trophy? If the Nets were good, you could at least hope that they would right the wrongs done to the Kings by taking the championship for themselves. But, they're not good. The refs don't even have to cheat to give the Lakers this series.

I would point out that theres only one FT difference in the whole series between the teams...

And that Sac-Town had a chance to do in game seven what they did in 2-5...and flopped. THAT WAS THEIR CHANCE!

The Kings were in it AND BLEW IT! I quote a newspaper from game 6:

DESPITE ANY DISPARITY THE LAKERS STILL ALMOST LOST!

THIS WAS NOT THE REFS******BUT THE KINGS FAULT

    But whatever.

I guess the minority that feel the way you do should go enjoy world cup soccer...

If you can't handle watching a lot of FTs in a basketball game, then you probably are not a basketball fan.

Don't watch the game or pay attention if it irks you that much.

The Kings are a better team than the Lakers. However, that doesn't mean they match up better with the Nets. The Nets are a typical undersized Eastern Conference team that has trouble matching up with premier big men. That's why Shaq has dominated. I guess a good comparison would be the mid-90s Rockets, when we won championships but had matchup problems with the Sonics. In '95, Robinson won the league MVP and the Spurs clearly were the best team in the league during the regular season. But, I can virtually guarantee you that the Rockets were thrilled to be playing the Spurs instead of the Sonics in that year's WCF. Matchups mean a lot, and even though Sac is better than LA, Sac would've been a better matchup for the Nets.

Oh, and post all the pictures you want. I understand. I used to be in the same position-- I loved sports and the NBA so much that I refused to accept their flaws, which apparently is what you and GB are doing now. Someday there will be an event like Game 6 against one of your teams, and you'll finally open your eyes to see the problems with the league.

BTW, the Kings only chance late in game 6 to make up for the referees was a desperation off balance three from Bibby in the last ten seconds. If you think having the chance to hit that shot and force overtime makes the worst officiated quarter in sports history legitimate, I have nothing more to say.

I guess the minority that feel the way you do should go enjoy world cup soccer...

More like the majority, unless you're talking this BBS. If you go read any other BBS, or pick up a local paper or two, you'll see just how many observers question in the integrity of game 6. Just because you and a few others on this BBS agree with the NBA doesn't make you the majority.

The Kings had a chance. Period. The refs didn't hand the game over. Why do I feel that LA could have hit 8 3pointers and only shot 5FT's and you'd still be complaining?

And those BBS fans and other nationwide fans have given up and gone on with their lives...you should probably...

Considering I've complained about the refs in only 7 of LA's 100+ games this season, odds are I probably wouldn't have. Oh, and who said it ever stopped? This is a BBS made for discussion, and whenever someone tries to say LA legitimately won this championship, I'll continue to discuss game 6. Personally, I don't care too much about it... I know who the best team is anyway, so the trophy's not the biggest deal.

Actually at the end of the night when the Arena emptys and the fans go home all they will remember and care about is who won that <b>"2002 NBA FINALS TROPHY"</b>.

They won't look on that game 6 for years to come, They'll look in the records book and see the "2002 LOS ANGELES LAKERS stamped in their almanac's and record books. And to me in the long run that is what will matter most.

All 50 million Los Angeles Laker fans will wear their hats and jerseys in triumph while You<i>(The Cat)</i> will be continuing to complain and express your views about that game 6, while everyone else celebrates and lives on with their lives.

I'm not saying other king fan's or fans that opposed that game 6 and the decisions of the refs will be angry about this. But as I said 95% of the general basketball population will only see those Lakers in those record books and look at them as champs.

and by the way, the world cup was pretty cool last night. i don't like soccer, but when i actually care about it (meaning the US is playing AND it's the world cup) it's pretty intense and fun to watch. i can almost see how the rest of the world can be sort of entertained. of course how they like it more than any of the big 3 over here is still a mystery.

    UNMKT,

I can't control what everyone else thinks, so I try not to concern myself with that. I know the Kings are the true champions of the NBA this year, and so what if others don't. It doesn't mean I haven't moved on with my life or anything like that... merely that I've accepted a different conclusion than you. It's no big deal.

Cat, you know I'm with you on a lot of things, but you're fooling yourself with the Kings are the true champions. They can complain about this and that, but if they shoot ft's like they did in the regular season, they win the game. If Webber outscores a blown up small forward like Shaq does Vlade they win the game. If Christie doesn't take the sorry pill, they win the game. They and all the other fans can cry and moan all they want to, but if they make their basic plays and play to the way they did during the regular season, they win the series, but they didn't so move on.

LOL! actually the Kings, Lakers, Mavericks, Spurs, Spurs and Jazz would have all beaten the Nets.

The NBA's post championship (Kings vs. Lakers) exhibition series is almost over and the Lakers tried to make it competitive but the Nets are just not a very good team.
