Y'all seen this? I searched, but not too deeply. Please delete, if necessary. http://www.telephoneroadtexas.com/index.html
Wow, I went to Mt. Carmel HS, but must have been before this guy. We got into a lot of fun and trouble cruising Telephone road. Thanks for posting this site.
I love historical books but this one is really stretching it. I can't ever recall Telephone Road being anything other than a road in a trashy area of town. Perhaps it was different in the 50's and 60's, but it will never have a "renaissance."
anyone ever listen to this CD? http://www.amazon.com/Telephone-Roa...=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1246975466&sr=8-5
I graduated highschool in 1985, but I only went to Mt. Carmel for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. My sisters all graduated from Mt. Carmel, but my youngest sister is 14 years older than me, so you were in between us. My dad was head of maintenance for the high school from the day they opened until..........goodness..........sometime in the late seventies. If you remember his last name, you'll know where I get my username.
Don't remember his name but remember the man. My older brother or sisters, or my younger sister probably crossed paths with your sibs or you. As far as some folks disparaging Telephone road, well, let's just say that they probably would be afraid to be there after dark anyway.
Was that the place decorated like a fort with the humongus po-boys? Essentially a loaf of bread stuffed with BBQ.
I didn't personally insult anyone. Way to jump to conclusions, buddy. Go run to the whining forum where this type of behavior is more acceptable.
Go away, dude. I am actually finding it interesting that that part of town was vibrant at one point (note the people who have lived there in this thread were living there prior to its deterioration.) I'm assuming Hobby probably led to it's current state.
