Seriously, why is this guy still in the booth? Besides the fact that he contributes absolutely nothing to the discussion, he also manages to mess everyone's name up and botch the whole telecast. Seriously, who forget's albert pujols's name except Tim McCarver. And Albert is certainly not the first victim of Timmy's horrid memory. According to Timmy, he's "Luis Pujols." He's making me reminisce about the awful NBA color men.
I hate McCarver, Zelakso, and Kennedy. Fox baseball coverege is horrible. Rob Dibble works for them and is better than Kennedy. They could really anybody but they choose Zelasko and Kennedy.
I can't believe Lou Pinella is a respected coach. He knows nothing, and he sounds like a stroke victim.

agreed...fox is just terrible overall. I even think Joe Buck has started to suck generally. On top of that, Paul McGuire still has a job..that's unbelievable, too.
At one point, late in the game, these were exact words coming out of Tim McCarver's mouth: Situation: Mets have men at 2nd and 3rd, 1 out, St. Louis predictably plays the defense in as they're already down 2-0. Mets batter hits a soft ground ball, right at the second baseman... looks the runner back to 3rd (runner had zero chance to score), and gets the out at first. McCarver: "I say you still send the runner there... because even if he gets out, which he would have, you still have 1st and 3rd with 2 outs." Meanwhile, the Mets still had 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs... which I guess McCarver thinks is worse?!?
I know I'm probably in the extreme minority...but I cannot stand Joe Buck. His approach and mannerisms are flat out annoying.
You'll pretty much find that in any announcer. Frankly, I think he's the most "with it" of any big-name announcer today... in terms of knowledge of the game, combined with pop-culture awarenes/references, combined with having his own opinion and not just being a talking head, combined with occasional humor. He is a tad full of himself... but that's probably because he's the lead PBP guy for baseball, the lead PBP guy for the NFL, the studio host for Fox's pre-game show (which is #1 in the country), and he's the only pbp guy (that I can recall) to be featured in not just one, but two huge non-sports company's advertising campaigns (Budweiser... "slamalama-ding-dong", and the Holliday Inn commercials.) Costas was pretty good... but his tendency to get too "romantic" about the nuances of the game (baseball or basketball) can get old after awhile. Al Michaels is still great at football (although he kisses up to Madden way too much now), and would still be good at baseball... but I can't get over his HORRID performance during his stint as the NBA pbp guy . He was terrible at basketball. Johnny Miller works with Joe Morgan... enough said. Also, I'd listen to a monkey yap into a mic than have Chris Berman call baseball games ever again.
i think joe buck calls a good game but yeah he does work my nerves sometimes. he has a snooty sort of attitude.
