In my opinion Bonzi is alot better than Rashard. He can prolly come cheaper. What do u think, if d Rockets offer him d exception? I think that he would b a big upgrade from Rice (And Nachbar, is injured, I think).
i wouldn't mind having bonzi, he's an very good scorer. he will bring alot of offensive weapons to the table. but we don't really need him. we have a good team where we stand.
He would be an awesome backup at the 2. He would give us a much needed spark off the bench when our offense seems stagnent.(which was often last year) Yea, he's a gamble, but so was Eddie(considering what we gave up). So was Steve when we traded for him. Alot of people said he would not work out. So was drafting Yao. So was Rice(we knew he was injured, and took a chance, Hopefully this year it pays off) If we can sign Bonzi to the MCE, thats a steal, or arrange a S&T, I'd be all for it. 1) Steve, Mooch, 2) Cat, Bonzi, 3) Rice, Nachbar, TMo 4) MoT, Eddie, K-9 5) Cato, Ming I really like this team.
What is going on here!?! Bonzi freakin Wells? Why don't we just get Wally Szerbeak or Richard Hamilton. Wells started and was second on a playoff team in scoring (17ppg). Why in the hell would he come here to be a backup SG and play 10min? Come cheap? Are you kidding! Mobley makes 5-6mil and I think Wells would want something in that range as well. And he's not much bigger than Mobley so he can't play SF either. Come on you guys we gotta be more realistic w/ these players. Lewis isn't coming, Wells isn't coming. Hell, we can't even get Michael Redd who would actually make sense as a back up SG.
DontMessWithTX needs to stop learning his English from those p*rn sites. Wells, can play SF or SG. In Portland he has to share time with Pippen (gone after this year), Patterson ($5MM), Anderson ($7MM), and rookie Woods (next T-mac?). Talented player but doesn't get the PT he deserves, since the Blazers seem to have a lot of money invested in other guys already. He's a restricted FA so getting him will be difficult. The Rockets are still a couple of years away from realistically contending so they can afford to try and develop the younger players.
shakes head abjectly @ ppl "jesting" / whatever about the dude's grammar . . . wells is a two, which means that while he is better than cuttino, we don't need him. // edit, just noticed dontmesswithtx's original post was edited w/o "last edited by" showing up, and the posts in question ( aforementioned "jesting" ) were eradicated, so . . . yeah . . . but if you kids want a somewhat egocentric view of what's "bad" about this bbs, it isn't said "pointless posts", but instead the annoying login each time i come here . . .
Bonzi is a Grade A selfish jerk. We don't need that to go along with Mo, Francis, Mobley, Moochie, and Rice. I'm tired of bringing in headcases.
i really like bonzi but i think he would want alot of money... and i think it would be best to keep the team we got... we are already paying cat alot of money... why waste more...on a back up...
finally, someone on this board see Bonzi. he's the real deal in this summer's FA market, better than Rashard! imo, he's better than Mobley too (on the court!) 17pt, 6reb, 3asi, 1.5stl in 31min. for a 6-5" swingman is all-star numbers. plus he plays good D. if he can play SF for the Blazers he can play for us too. don't you think he's better than Sprewell? and I'm sure he's better than what we have now- Rice, Morris, and Nachbar. he won't come cheap though! he'll get 5-7 mil from the Blazers so we have to make a Sign & Trade w/ Portland to get Bonzi. if they're talking w/ Sabonis like reports say they might prefer to have Cato back and have K.T. to back up Wallace. they still have Anderson, Patterson, Pippen, Kerr, and Woods to play the 2 & 3. if somehow we luckily get both Lewis and Wells (sign Lewis to MCE and trade Cato+K.T. for Wells) I'll start Wells and bring Mobley off the bench. next year if Duncan give Houston a chance we can package Mobley, Griffin, and Rice for him. Starting five: Francis, Wells, Lewis, Duncan, Yao Ming Off the bench: Norris, Torres, Nachbar, Taylor, Willis wow, that might be better than the Kings at every position!
. . . please no . . . unrealistic . . . i'll take a starting five in the future of francis, cat, nachbar, grif, and ming . . .
Bonzi makes sense. Check this out! What ever happened to Bonzi Wells? He is one of the more dynamic two guards in the NBA, but Bonzi Wells, like most free agents, has quickly fallen on hard times. The Blazers are balking at his contract demands and Wells is having a hard time finding another team willing to commit its full mid-level exception to him. It's not because Wells doesn't have value, it's just that teams are convinced that the Blazers will match any offer up to the mid-level exception. That's probably true, but word around the league is that the Blazers don't really want Wells back. The team has a stacked backcourt and is hoping that Wells could bring back a point guard or a decent center in return. The Blazers have entertained sign-and-trade offers for Wells all month, but so far nothing has been to their liking. Interestingly, the team with the most interest in Wells has been the Pistons. Detroit actually drafted Wells and then sent him to Blazers for a conditional first-round pick. The Pistons' starting two guard, Jerry Stackhouse, will likely opt out of his contract next summer. According to a league source, the team would be willing to swap Stackhouse for Wells, but the Blazers aren't interested. Where else would Wells be a good fit? The T-Wolves have been trying to upgrade their athleticism at the two guard position. Talk of a possible Wells-for-Wally Szczerbiak swap has been floating around the league for a month. However, the trade would be difficult to consummate unless several more players were thrown in to get salaries to match. The Hawks have also been looking for a more athletic two guard. Though they deny that they're shopping Jason Terry, a Terry-and-Nazr Mohammed-for-Wells swap makes some sense. The Nuggets and Cavs are also possibilities. Probably Cato or Collier and another player and then pick up Willis as insurance at the 5 spot.
Haven't heard his name much. Could be a steal for someone, but I think Milwaukie will just match any contract he signs.
I think BONZI'S head was not set right. Did'nt he got tossed out of the game, so many times, because of his uncontrollable attitude on the floor? So why do you think he fit in well? Frankly, I don't think we really need him!
I don't know about Wells' attitude off the court... or even his Basketball sense of entitlement, but I do know the guy absolutely brings it!! He has single handedly wooped the Roc's up one side and down the other!! If his "head" is right, and if we could get trade him for MoT (maybe three-way with Seattle), then I would do it in a heart-beat.
Bonzi doesn't get into off the court trouble or anything. But, he's a coach's nightmare. If he didn't play alongside Sheed, then it would be easier to see. Bonzi takes too many ill-advised shots, and rarely passes the ball. And his defense effort, and overall effort is so up and down like the stock exchange. We already have an inconsistent SG in Mobley, no need for another. As someone said, we need Michael Redd.
if cat or bonzi would come off the bench then i'm all for it. But i think that nither one would do that. So i don't see him coming here a possiblity. but i won't forget CD's words after the draft. He said we are still gonna make some more moves.
