It has been discussed in several threads, but what do you think is best for the Rockets? Long term, or short? Aiming to be the dark horse champion, who gives the Rockets a better shot, in general? If you pick Bonzi, tell us what to do with Kirk... If you pick Kirk, tell us what to do with Bonzi... Discuss scenarios, but in the end of the day- Who do you want to see night-in and night-out getting the 20 minutes at the Rockets 6th or 7th man?
Kirk Snyder. He plays hard, plays defense and is more durable (minus the broken hand thing). Bonzi at his best is much better than Kirk at his best but I'm starting to think the old Bonzi is gone for good. Welcome to the overweight, injury-prone 30 year old version. I'm also assuming that we can move Bonzi to get someone useful in return. Bonzi brings more value on the market than Kirk.
i would, but with JVG, it is highly unlikely that both can get the minutes i dont want to see the response - depending on the game i want to see generally who gives us the better chance...
Luther Head! OK, after that, I'm picking Bonzi for this year because he's a good scorer. He can carry the load offensively the way Snyder will never be able too. But long term, they won't be able to keep Bonzi, and they shouldn't give up on Snyder. Snyder's a really good defender and when he plays within himself, he can be a reliable offensive option. Snyder definitely has a place on this team for the future.
snyder all the way. he's younger, more athletic, better defender, more upside. bonzi can go before the deadline for a PG or a C.
Short term , bonzi Long term, Snyder. I want to see him given a chance. Start with youth and athleticism and you have a chance of success. Heck, he's already a pretty decent defender, and we can alway use good defense.
If/when Bonzi is healthy, he a way better than snyder. If bonzi is not ready until the playoffs, I am fine with that because he is a proven playoff performer. I think both him and snyder should get minutes however.
I'd trade Bonzi for a good power forward, but I would rather keep both of them. Bonzi for this year, Snyder for the future.
I can see Kirk and Bonzi on the floor together when TMac is taking a breather and Rafer at the point or (gulp) Luther. I get the feeling Bonzi won't be here long term, either he'll be traded or he'll opt out. Just a gut feeling.
Bonzi--assuming he can FINALLY stay in the rotation. He's murder on the low block and a hell of a rebounder. In the playoffs, he'll be a great 3rd option. Kirk--great athleticism, but essentially unproven. Great sub for T-Mac but he's not the "give me the ball and get out of my way," sort of player that Bonzi has proven he can be. So, my vote is for Bonzi. But I'd definitely use both in the playoff rotation (Kirk backs up T-MAC, Bonzi backs up Battier/T-Mac)
Both of them. But Kirk Snyder demonstrates why signing Bonzi long term at the MLE would be the wrong thing to do. He's old, slow & unathletic and he will get older, slower and more unathletic, especially when the ink is dry on his last guaranteed contract.
TMac Bonzi Snyder Battier is a nightmare for any team IN terms of whether I'd choose bonzi or snyder I will ahve to say i will have to observe them a bit more right now game-by-game we should put whoever that is hot or creates the most mismatch into the game
very suspect ballhandling crew there, ripe for trapping defenses and errant passes and eating up precious seconds on 24second shot clock just to dribble the ball across the 10 second line...Luther is a very suspect ballhandler at this point of his career.
yao, a non-factor against the suns? who can stop him from scoring in the post? the way to beat the suns is to score inside on them all day since they're soft. look at how effective brand and kaman were in the playoffs against the suns.
