    • Newly-acquired swingman Bonzi Wells missed Wednesday’s game because of a bruised Achilles’ tendon suffered in the loss to Washington on Monday. Wells was not on the Hornets’ bench during the game. Coach Byron Scott said Wells watched the game from the locker room. When asked if Wells was receiving treatment, Scott replied: “No, he brought the wrong clothes.”

Wells was seen in blue jeans and a casual shirt in the locker room after the game, too casual an outfit for Scott’s taste.

Bonzi needs a players coach to be successful. He doesn't do well under authoritarian coaches.

I wonder if this is an unfortunate lingering effect of having his sister sit on his lap...

This was to be expected......after Jerry Sloan, Scott's probably the most no-nonsense coach in the league...

You can bruise a tendon? That's news to me.

I am with Langhi on this. Scott is whining about clothes here. Clothes. Its just clothes. Leave whining about outfits to the sorority girls and prom queens. Scott takes a minor incident and now its going to blow up slightly more. Create tension. Hurt Bonzi's production. Over clothes?

Doesn't the NBA have a dress code for players sitting on the sideline that aren't playing?

Pop and Riles are both more authoritarian than Byron Scott.

    awesome?

I'll agree with decent off the bench, but awesom? That's like Anna-Megan McClain calling him a superstar.

I thought it would take a while longer before Bonzi started butting heads with Scott. Esp given that he's playing for a contract.

Now that Bonzi and MJ are off the rox, there isn't a single knucklehead on the team. Although Green certainly has potential.

Knuckleheads can be quelled by good coaches. S. Jackson in SA and GSW, Rodman under PJ, Maxwell under Rudy (Maxwell was still a thug but Rudy actually got contributions from him and he had a positive effect on the team), etc... I guess not being able to control the knucklehead player isn't a sign of a bad coach. But being able to is a huge advantage.

Regardless of Byron Scott's feelings, Wells could not be on the bench due to the NBA rules:

Players are required to wear Business Casual attire whenever they are engaged in team or league business.

    "Business Casual" attire means

A long or short-sleeved dress shirt (collared or turtleneck), and/or a sweater.
Dress slacks, khaki pants, or dress jeans.
Appropriate shoes and socks, including dress shoes, dress boots, or other presentable shoes, but not including sneakers, sandals, flip-flops, or work boots.

    a. Players In Attendance At Games But Not In Uniform

Players who are in attendance at games but not in uniform are required to wear the following additional items when seated on the bench or in the stands during the game:

    Sport Coat
Dress shoes or boots, and socks

yeah it's nice when you have the ability to assimilate a troubled player into the team and have him contribute. but it's much better not having to rely on one in the first place.

I forgot about Francis, but to be fair, I kinda already just consider him as an expiring contract.

This is a really easy team to root for right now, injury bug aside.

If I'm not mistaken, it's an NBA rule that players need to be in formal wear to sit on the bench during a game.
