So it's only like 5 games into the season, but assuming Bonzi keeps this level of play up for the entire season (or at least 75%+ of the season) would he be a contender for Most Improved award? Possibly even 6th man? (Surely Terry can't keep his 23ppg average up for the entire season off the bench...) I know he didn't play much, well pretty much not at all, last season is that a criteria for Most Improved? That you have to have played a significant amount in the previous season?

I think he would be the leading candidate for 6th man at this pace. The Bonzi Bandwagon feels crowded. He is contributing finally and we're all thrilled but I don't think it is entirely JVG's fault for his lack of contribution last year. He did show up out of shape and maybe JVG realized that he was losing a step because of his conditioning, and trying to motivate him to slim down in his JVG doghouse sort of way. It's Bonzi not Adelman that deserves the credit for his play. Although if it were Adelman's team last year, he would haver dealt with out of shape, unmotivated Bonzi more personably than JVG did.
can anyone dig up the "trade Bonzi" thread where almost every member on this board was calling for the guys head and saying that Bonz will NEVER be effective for us? I remember me being one of the very very few defending the guy...
I LOVE BONZI WELLS!!!!!!!!!!! i cant say it enough i remember last year hoping we could somehow land him and we did!!! but it was unfortunate that he could not play but better late then never
Bonzi is a legit starting SG/SF in the NBA. He's about a level lower than Paul Pierce, another post up wing player. Players like him are rare and good to have on any team...definitely a candidate for 6th man

This is what you get when the coach isn't a product of his own behind. You can motivate players and make it easy for them to go out and work for you without having to try to be macho and prove a point. Bonzi has always been a talent and i'll say it again, assistant coach is the only idiot who would have a talent like Bonzi and would sit him all year.
