Stumbled upon this gem on a Pistons blog : Can you say attack of the munchies! Makes the double tech they received in the game interesting.
ha, I just posted this in another thread was it just me or was I the only person that thought the whole Bonzi/Rasheed stare down was cool? I knew it wasn't going to escalate into anything since I believe their "boys" from the Blazer days. If I remember correctly, Rasheed was pissed when Bonzi got traded to the Grizzlies. Once I saw the stare down, I thought it was just 2 players who are friends that love the competition, kinda of like back when Jordan played Barkley all the time when Barkley played with us. I bet it as the Kirby IHOP, I saw John Lucas there one time, was cool to talk to.
Those two were just playing around and got premature technicals from Bavetta. Though, I understand why he would call it. Wouldn't want a fight to break out now would we?
guys we're slipping...how can we not have first hand accounts of this? i thought we had spies everywhere!!
No professional athlete should be out on the town at 3am, especially in the season. It just shows in the case of Bonzi that he doesn't care a damn for the sucess of the Rockets!
Whatever it is, it's working for Bonzi, he has had a good streak. I want to see every Rocket with Bonzi at IHOP or House of Pies or Ruchi's at 3am. And if Bonzi hit the strip club before that, so be it.
I was enthralled at the stare down. It had ZERO chance of materializing into anything more than verbal, which is fine by me. I think the players should be able to talk it up to one another without fear of being tech'd. Talking with officials is another thing, because they're relationship with you isn't in the spirit of equal competition. The refs too often intervene with a 'warning' technical when a player gets hyped after a throwdown/rejection and expresses himself to his opponent. Personally, when I ball I never really talk unless spoken upon, mostly because I am always moving and out of breath. I do love to be challenged though and won't pass an opportunity to rub it in. I do understand Bavetta's call though, because of how hyped it got the crowd got. He doubled it up and canceled the ft's, which I didn't even know you could do. Serves its purpose of warning the players to not take it any further without really punishing two players who never had malicious intentions.
Probably reminiscing the good ol days of tormenting their teammate Boumtje Boumtje... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=69484&highlight=rasheed+wells+blazers
Playing NBA Ball for a living must be nice. Can stay up till all hours of the night cause you don't have to get up unless the coach says you have practice at 7 AM in the morning. Guess there's no practice in the morning for these guys.
Ive seen Bonzi and Rasheed out and about in Houston before. Check it out http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=1179&highlight=bowling
