I wonder if the relationships are more common, or that now that it has become major national news a few times, people are just coming forward more often. A lot of these teachers that are doing these things are almost within the same generation of teh students they teach. Heck, a teacher right out of college would be 22-23. If they teach high school, they could be teaching 18 year olds. Not surprising when things happen in those cases.
Then they can freaking wait. A buddy of mine coaches at my old high school. He's dating someone who was in high school when they met. They bumped into each other when she was 19 or 20 years old, and they started dating. Before that, he dated several others who he taught or coached. But he waited until they graduated. How hard is it for teachers to wait if they find someone attractive?
