Many rox fans & boki-only-fans hope that boki will get more time on court in new season, and the starting small forward for rox last season was jim jackson. So i compared boki's average 48min stats with jj's (including 5 playoff games). ppg: boki 13.2 jj 15.9 2p%: boki .363 jj .447 3p%: boki .362 jj .392 ft%: boki .752 jj .827 boki's 2p% is no good. it's even worst than his rookie season's %. rpg: boki 6.56 jj 7.75 obviously jj's better. in the playoffs jj got 10+ rebs per game. apg: boki 2.75 jj 3.40 :| in fact, the distance isn't so big. boki assisted 6 times in a game last season. when he gets his time, he will sure be better. spg: boki 1.29 jj 1.31 bpg: boki 1.17 jj 0.34 boki's height helps very much. he sometimes blocks 2 times in just a few minutes. to: boki 2.16 jj 2.64 pf: boki 7.08 jj 3.39 boki must avoid the FOUL TROUBLE or he can't get time to play. i wonder what do u think?
Boki is very good at everything EXCEPT scoring with contact... and until he adjusts to that, he can't get any serious playing time.
The three flaws of Boki. 1. Streaky shooter to the extreme. 2.Foul Trouble 3. Dosent use his boday enough on offense relies on his speed.
I think offensively, as mentioned, with playing time, Boki could become comfortable and average. What held him back in year 1 was clearly defense. He improved somewhat in year 2, but still has significant problems guarding the quicker, more athletic swingman who get to the basket at ease against him. Especially with JVG, this won't work,
And that my friends is the crux of the entire phenomenon of supporting guys like Boki and Badinae. Although if they scrub out too much, then they WILL be blasted for being a bust (However this will be way less for Badinae, who's only a second rounder). I'm guessing that this will be the make or break year for Boki where this board is concerned. Become a contributer or face the wrath of fandom.
