I really hope that Boki gets a chance to play next year, the kid deserves it.

He plays without fear, and hustles like crazy.

I think JVG did not use his bench well at all this year and hope that he plays Boki much more.

Heck, Boki was the only bright spot of the Lakers series.

He plays with heart and smarts....something the Rockets desperatly need.

    GO BOKI !!!

20 minutes a game. thats all i ask for him... if he shows that he is worthy, more minutes which means more breathers for cat and JJ, which means more wins because of better performances...

Took some time for Boki to come through, but I'm glad he showed his skills during this playoff series. I would really like to see more of him off the bench and splitting time w/ JJ.

I was surprised JVG didn't play him more! Rush showed his stuff in the playoffs, so he got time. You go with what works. Any spark off the bench is clutch. Fouls aside, he was damn effective. Good portent for next year. He better not get shipped out in whatever deal we make in the offseason.

my guess is, if spoon wasn't injured Bok wouldn't have played at all in the playoffs

No kidding. I'm surprised JJ had anything left in the tank.
I think our starters played too many minutes and our bench has either been exposed or ignored. Or both.

yeah i was really surprised at the heavy 7 man rotation JVG used, ( i count boki and m jackson as one since they played like 3 min intervals)
which left pike, padgett, and spoon nowhere. the rockets much get a better bench to give the starters a break, they need some energy and toughness which Boki brought for the limited minutes he played. As much as i liked mjackson he is not even close to what he was 2 seasons ago, could not hit a wide open shot wouldnt drive the lane well. Taylor is all offense no real defense and is stagnant with the ball. So many plays where he just held the ball for a good amount of time without really making a decision of what to do. And what happened with adrian griffin? why was he left completely off the playoff roster?

I look at the bench roster right now and I see Boki, Taylor and possibly padgett as the only players I'd like to hold over for next season for the bench the others need to go to find more suitable role players. I really wished Eddie G was still possible if he gets his legal stuff settled, as much as people here now hate him he could have been a valuable role player and bench player for the rockets. Possibly that athletic defensive power foward who has the ability to knock down a 15-18 ft jumper on pick n rolls. Whenever this was ran with cato the lakers pratically begged the guard to pass it to Cato to shoot. but i guess eddie is generally a lost cause right now, but i do wish to seem him back in houston playing for the rockets.

We need to make some serious acquisitions this off season getting guys to bring that spark and energy off the bench otherwise this team very well could be the next minnesota, making the playoffs but always losing in the 1st round because they were just too thin

Nachbar is coming alone fine.

I envision him become a pretty good POINT FOWARD/SMALL FORWARD (a mix between Brent Barry and Andrei Kirilenko). We all know Nachbar's weakness on defense. But he's improving in that area too. Can you blame him for having a hard time guarding Kobe? I think not.

If you've watched closely you can see that when he gets in the open court he can really spread the court, dunk, or pass if necessary. His long legs and arms give him that broad stride. It's fun watching him play. Oh! And the guy can rebound like a "mad-man" if given the chance to play...

Maybe next year he'll get more PT!

something to add on about boki, not sure if anyone else really saw it in the first half but he was switched under the basket guarding shaq and the lakers took a jumpshot and made it but the sheer effort was amazing. he was trying to box out shaq by himself underneath, pushing totally away, probably would have called a foul on him seeing how the refs felt anything boki did was a foul, but the fact he even tried to push him out as far as he could spoke volumes to me in terms of how he gives it his all. I mean this is shaq we're talking about here

Yes yes! Boki needs to be a starter. Like DD said, has heart AND smarts. He should be our starting SF for next season, and JV has any brains he'll think so too. Move JJ to the bench as our two replacement, incase we have to involve Cat in a Stevie trade to get T-Mac. Some say that's giving too much, but I dunno. To me T-mac would be damn worth it. After that, we should go after Brent, to fullfill our PG needs. Besides, we still have JJ, and Paikowski (hopefully returns to shooting form).

    Brent Barry
    T-Mac
    Boki Nachbar
(a pretty decent PF pickup, through FA or through a trade)
    Ming Yao

    Now THAT'S a CORE.:D

Amen to that .That been the problem i've had with JVG all year he didn't use the bench well at all. JJ & Cat looked tired a lot during the season and it showed in the playoffs. All the shooter they had but no playing time .

If Boki didn't get any minutes under either Rudy T. or Jeff Van Gundy, it isn't because he has a lot of potential. It is because he is not good enough. After 2 years, he isn't even good enough to get 15 minutes a game.

All signs point to him being at the end of the bench his whole career.

All signs point to you being clueless on this issue.

Boki got playoff minutes in an 8 man rotation THIS playoff season.

Yeah, when Cuttino Mobley was in foul trouble in one game, and he never played in the 2nd half. And then he played in the last game where it was a blowout and JVG was trying anything to shake things up.

It's not like he is stuck behind a lot of talented players. Cuttino and JJ were playing nearly 40 minutes a game all season. We needed someone who could play desperately. But Padgett was often the better option.

The only way Boki can develop if he sees some PT. He showed that he can be a spark off the bench, and I really think his shots will start falling once he gets some confidence.

But, CD is reallly killing us with no #1 picks. Ya, most don't come out and contribute right away, but adding young talent is something the Rox haven't done in a while.

I defintely feel one of JVG's faults is not allowing the bench to get more minutes. He is VERY guarded about the players he wants playing. That really hurts us in the long run and in a long season as the players start to wear down.

If Nachbar is still on this team next year he needs to be getting 20+ minutes a night. I would like to see him be an 8pt, 5rb type player off the bench. I think Nachbar has improved a lot over the last month with his aggressive play.

The key to Nachbar is his 3pt shot going down. I think he just doesnt have enough game confidence to hit it. The more game time he gets and the more comfortable he is on the court the more confidence he will have with his 3pt shot. He just needs playing time. And summer league play while helpful to an extent, is just not enough. He needs NBA game playing experience.

Actually, Amaechi was supposed to be our 1st round pick for next year, but he turned out to be/have a bust.
