With Yao coming along so well, it makes me wonder how Nachbar would do if given the chance. I believe as long as Nachbar plays his style of play (slashing & med range jumpers) he would prove more reliable than Morris. For someone who was so highly regarded, he has not been given a chance to show it.

What absolutely boggles my mind is....

    1. How Nachbar one night got the start, then didnt play last 42 minutes of a game

    2. How After his first start, he didnt see time again for about 10 games.

    3. Why Rudy is so into "Evaluating veterans like Terrance Morris." as opposed to evaluating the number 15 pick in a very deep draft.

    4. How Boki couldnt get time when he was the only healthy, real small foward the rox had.

Ok, Im all for allowing Terrence Morris have some time. But so far he has only shown an ability to dunk hard, and occasionally play some D. I wont believe that Nachbar couldnt bring a few things to the table also. SO if he brought 3 point shooting and hustle, I think that merits giving some of T Mo's time to Nachbar. Giving the guy 5-7 mins a night when games are under control, or out of control isnt going to hurt us, and can only help his progression. Instead Rudy speaks of him as the "Next years pick we dont have" Kind of rediculous if you ask me.

I agree, I wish we could use Boki in the manner the Kings use Turkoglu in both a small forward and shooting guard role. Nachbar could also benefit the team by creating mismatches against other 2-guards, when used in this capacity.

the difference is that this is nachbar's first season coming off surgery and this is hedu's 3rd or 4th season. turkoglu didn't exactly play much in his first season either. reportedly nachbar isn't ready fo big minutes yet and if that's the case then rudy's bringing him along the right way.

Boki was the star on his Italian team last season, while the No.5 pick Tskitishvili was his backup.

Now Skita gets quite some playing time although he's clearly not ready, and Boki is getting stucked at the end of the bench...

I think he will get more time later in the season. As for now, Rudy is still confused about lineups. Throwing Nachbar into the mix will just lead him to drink more. As the season goes on and things get figured out, Nachbar should be able to see some time on the court.

the rockets have been winning games more from their defense than their offense though and i would bet his defense leaves a lot to be desired at this point. so far i haven't seen a european import yet that could play d when he entered the league. some of them improve over time, but i'm guessing rudy just doesn't want to put in somebody who can't play d.

but uh, like i said, i'm just guessing.

Apparently, Nachbar is nowhere near in game shape. His hernia in training camp has kept him from getting up to speed with the NBA game. Don't worry, he'll see plenty of action after the all-star break after he learns the offense and how to play defense.

The difference? Skita plays for the Denver freaking Nuggets!!! They are CLEARLY one of the WORST teams in the NBA. They play him so much because they don't have anybody else who's worth a damn.

Wouldn't it be great to sit in a few practices and actually see what Boki does against his teammates?

I wish I knew what the Rox have with this guy.

I wish we could count on a healthy (and productive) Glen Rice -- or trade him for summmthin.

    Baqui is right.
It was discussed yesterday that with the kind of hernia he had, it takes a considerable amount of time to recouperate from the surgery. He has had little playin time because he is not in good enough shape to play alot. His few minutes every once in a while are about all we are likely to see for probably the first half the season.

As for the no D argument, it isnt fair to say that he *can't * play D just because you haven't seen a Euro yet who could. Before YM, we had never seen a guy as tall as he is play as good as he does. Was it right or fair that everyone was sayin he wouldn't be able to ball just because we had never seen a tall Chinese guy that could?
    Do you see the comparison?
Don't assume that he cant play D until we have seen him play healthy for a few games. If he shows no signs of defensive presence after playin a couple of games, then you can tell me about how right you were.
