Have you seen this show? If being famous leads to what Bobby and Whitney have become then you can have it. Who knew that 2 talented powerhouses could be diminished into a middle aged couple who are substance abusing embarrasments? As I watch this show with wifey she looked at me and asked, "Is this what you really want?" The most disappointing thing about them is that they STILL HAVE TALENT! Whitney really sings periodically around the house and Bobby acquitted himself nicely on the Jimmy Kimmel show, so why are their lives such a trainwreck? They blow (cash) money like it's nothing on food, alcohol, their entourage and their fat, spoiled daughter Bobbi. They are constantly fighting and arguing, paralleling themselves in most cases to one of those homeless couples on park benches quibbling about nothing just before they delve into a drug and alcohol induced stupor. I wish this show would go away because what it represents is an embarrassment to everything that I am working so hard to achieve, and to humanity and we know it!
AB-- I don't think you'd have these problems. Power certainly corrupts...and fame is power. Wealth is power. But knowing who you are as a man of principle and integrity, I wouldn't be worried about you falling into these traps. You've already demonstrated what's most important to you, and it ain't money or the game. And I'd be praying for you like crazy to keep you humble...and I KNOW your wife would keep you in check! And at the end of the day..you have to look into your kids' eyes. That would do it.
cocaines a hell of a drug (sorry, if i didnt say it someone else was going to sooner or later) yes, its a real waste - whitney houston had one of the greatest voices in the history of voices and even bobby was a talented dude (especially considering how young he was back in his heyday). wasnt he only like 19-20 when he put out dont be cruel? not all celebrities are crackheads and not all crackheads are celebrities. ive only watched about a total of 2 minutes of that show. they are always fighting or bobby is saying something rude to his kid and having to apologize. i feel bad for that little girl, in a way. maybe when she grows up, her and "blanket" are going to hook up.
I am sure you can find about 6,982,437 ways to distinguish yourself and your quest for fame from Bobby and Whitney. "It will all randomly work out!" - The Ladies Man
I used to blame Bobby Brown for dragging Whitney down, but I'm not so sure now. It's evident that she changed from being America's sweetheart after marrying that scoundrel. However, she has been holding up her end of Bonnie to his Junkie Clyde.
Haven't watched all the episodes but from the ones i've seen their entourage is not big and seems to consist of close family and friends. If i ever become that wealthy you can be assured my family and friends will share in that wealth. I do agree with you, Bobbi is fat and spoiled and Bobby drinks way to much. I don't know how you can say they are blowing money on food unless it's not all being eaten. Again i have not seen all the shows. The fights i've seen seem rather playfull and not that serious. It looks like they really do love each other. It's a "reality show", they can cut and edit this thing to portray them however they want. To tell you the truth i am surprised, i mean if you didn't know about the drug abuse they would just look like a crazy couple enjoying life. It could have been a lot worse.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Whitney's handlers deserve all of the praise in the world of PR. I had no idea how wacky she was until I got addicted to this show. Her PR people hid it well for all this time.
Lack of spirituality. Material wealth doesn't necessarily lead to happiness and sadly that's why these rich famous people lead unhappy lives and becoming drug/alcohol addicts who marry and divorce every few years. I was watching "The Soup" (Freaking Hilarious show!) and they showed a clip from Bobby/Whitney's show and Bobby was at a bar paying for a drink when someone introduced himself. Bobby said "Hi, I am Bobby Brown", and the guy had no idea who he was. B Brown was suprised and asked "you don't know who I am?" The guy said no to which Brown started naming all the "hit" songs he wrote/sang. The guy still had no clue. Brown then said "I am the guy who married Whitney Houston" and the guy immediately knew him...It was hilarious!!!
Brown was never that talented, that's part of his problem, he was just a pop star. New Edition was a better group when they got Johnny Gill. A few years ago Mad TV did a funny skit on them. A take off of MTV cribs, and they go to their house and its all beat up. Whitney goes "let me show you the studio" and its a fisher price toy studio. Pretty funny, but Whitney is still has a wonderful voice.
Last night I watched a couple episodes of the show for the first time - I seriously can't believe they’re not living in a trailer.
Am I the only person that finds this show entertaining? I dont even watch T.V. much but for ESPN and Sports. Bobby seems like a sincere loving father to me, yeah he has issues, but his kids tend to love him. He loves his wife. The only thing that stands out to me on this show is the fact that you can now see Bobby is not the arse hole. Whitney is the one. Like the other guy said, her PR people did a wonderful job covering up her nasty attitude. I had heard it for years but never believed it.
I think it was a mistake for them to do the show. I've never seen people that stupid before in all facets of life. I would have never have known they were like that had they not done the show. They should be embarrassed. They make Anna Nicole Smith look like a nuclear physicist.
i totally agree. Gill, in my mind, is the very best R&B singer of that generation. the most talented, anyway. his first solo album was great. and New Edition was never better after he was added.
