Been lucky to go to a lot of games this year, especially recently. Went to Lakers, Bulls, and Trailbazers this sunday. I have always enjoyed going, but the crowd still isnt into it as much as I would like-especially in the lower section where I sit. Hopefully this win streak will get some more people to attend games and cheer on their home town.

Ok now to the point of this thread. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BOB SURA!!! He has the "true heart of a champion" in my mind and gives it his all every night every minute. He reminds me of the type of Rockets I remember loving in the 90's-Elie,Smith, Cassell. I know he is old and is playing through injuries so do not know how long he will remain a Rocket, but I truly wish we had more guys like him. Hes a great ball player who makes this team enjoyable to root for. If there is another thread about him that I missed, sorry. Any other thoughts? How long is he signed for?

Also, I am glad to see more positive threads around the forum now that we are winning, but I wish this forum could have a more positive atmosphere all the time. Enough with the YOF bashing and people trying to do the mods jobs. However I know that is not possible so I will just have to live with it. sorry for being all over the place I am at work and I am tired

This team has an element that has been missing since the championship years.

    Passion and unselfishness.

He's our one guy who plays with a chip on his shoulder, and he gets underneath the skin of the opponents.

All championship teams need someone like that:
    Detroit - everybody
    Spurs - Bowen
    Lakers - Fox
    Bulls - Rodman
    Rockets - Elie, Maxwell

You can't compare Sura to Kenny who was a very good shooter but a timid soul when it comes to going toe to toe with the likes of Payton. On the other hand the Mad Max comparison is closer but you all know what happened to him.

Sura is a good player with a chip on his shoulder. He needs to walk a tight rope to put out his best and keep his worst in check.

    :)
I had to laugh at Sura last night. He got that technical and then shortly after that he went up for a rebound on the defensive end and got bumped out, but he still managed to get the board. He gave the ref this look as if to say, "You stupid idiot, blow the whistle." He then precedes over halfcourt and waits until the defender gets halfway close to him and then he just runs into the defender. The ref didn't blow anything and Sura looked at him again with that "Are you totally blind?" look. Sura than precedes to drive the ball into the paint and throw a layup that either went in or he finally got the foul called on the defense, I just can't remember which, but one of the two happened and maybe both. I think he got the foul called though. He was hillarious to watch glaring at the refs and the other players keeping him away.

I ilked the ESPN guys saying that he should follow in Cassell's shoes and just argue after every play - that way the refs expect it :D

Sura is definitely a big plus for Rockets. I hope his knee can hold up and he can pass to the post more consistently.
