I'm not completely sure this is an April Fools joke anymore. If it is, then both Bob Ross Inc. and AGFRAG and going through a lot of trouble to pull it off. Some people are confirming it online, saying they talked to the devs at GDC, or they recently got confirmation from both companies. So it is either a really good joke with a bunch of people in on it, or the news is legit...for some reason. I think I'm still leaning towards it being a April Fools joke just because, but I'm less sure now than I was earlier.

Oh, that's fake. I guess I should have made that clear that I got that from a forum and posted it as a joke; the Bob Ross Inc site and the site for the developers making the game just have the press release, no boxart or anything like that.

Commander Mark should get a game. He'd draw all over that hippie's ass.

I always liked that show, and I friggin hate PBS. I know it's been almost 11 years, but I'm still sad that the dude died.

FYI, This has been confirmed as NOT an April Fool's prank. Color me shocked, but pleased. Get it, color? With a painting game?

He can bring it. I'll take him downtown to the Secret City he wants no part of.

THAT made me laugh out loud.

Isn't that the guy that would draw his "space city" using cylindrical shapes and shading?

And if you tell ANYONE about that tree I WILL CUT YOU!

I loved watching Bob Ross. I had a girlfriend and we would tape Bob Ross and then watch them at night after a few drinks and it was very entertaining. He would have a nice painting going and then out of nowhere he would put some big mark straight down the canvas. We'd be like, "Noooo! What's he doing?" But then he would pull it all together and make it look very nice.

Dude, I loved seeing the secret city dude draw on his huge space city at the end, but he and his "direction seven" or whatever tip it was to help draw in 3D couldn't hold Bob Ross's jock. After pwning him in a drawing OR painting contest, Bob would sick his squirrels (which must be fully grown by now) on Commander Mark and let his pet birds devour the remaining carcass.

I think what always fascinated me the most about Bob Ross was the way his paintings emerged over the course of his show. It wasn't that they were amazingly beautiful or anything. I mean, they were great, but he did them in 25 minutes, and there was always a point during the show...and it was not always easy to identify, but there was a point, and I'm talking about the Dude here...but there's a man, well...

Sorry, drifted off there. Anyway, for the first 5-10 minutes of the show, as he is just developing the background and colors, it looks like little more than random smears on a canvas. But eventually, and sometimes it seems very sudden, he makes one or two brush strokes and the whole damn picture turns into EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED. It was like magic.

Somehow, I don't see them capturing that in a video game. Probably no squirrels either.

Bob Ross could paint a masterpiece with just a putty knife, a bottle of White-Out and paint derived from his own sweat and dirt. Bob was/is the man!!!
