Recently Bob Kemp, on his NBA Grapevine, said that the Knicks want to rid themselves of Othella Harrington for "anything".

I could see us getting Othella if Griffin would start off the season as a three-man. But Othella would have to play the bench behind Mo Taylor.

But Othella would not be a long term solution because Griff will eventually bulk up enough to be the PF for years to come.

Would Glen Rice come off the bench, if he played for the Rockets?
If he came here to start, that would mean Griffin would start off as a bench player.

I really like Othella Harrington's game. It would be great to bring him back because of the energy he brings off the bench. Mooch, Othella, and maybe Shandon (?) would be a great second unit to have.

Uhhmmnn...Othella would pick up minutes primarily at center, IMO. His game is tenacity on the boards and a back to the basket offensive repertoire. Othella has a sweet, scoopin, higher than average jump hook shot, and he's bigger than most people 6'9" (I mean that he plays like a 7 footer in the paint).

If we could land Othella, I'd be happy, that is unless we land Rice for something that we don't yet understand...

As a related note (because of mentioning Rice), does anybody get the impression that e are making way too much fuss about the implementation of the zone this year? It's not like you don't stick a defender on a shooter/scorer anyway...I guess only Shaq really has anything to b**** about...

I would Love to see Othello back w/ the Rockets. He would be much better than Marc Jackson and hes only one inch shorter. We've been wanting a SF that can rebound, I think Eddie can be our man for awhile instead of becoming a PF. He could crash the boards and it'll be like playing the PF position. That means:
    PG: FRANCHISE
    SG: CAT
    SF: GRIFF
    PF: MO T
    C: OTHELLO

Cato would start. The Fella would only be a backup. If Othella is our starting 5 for the season, we are in big trouble.

You got to give Cato one last season to break out. I think he might do it.

    Bob Kemp's an IDIOT!!!

Now that I have that off my chest.

Othella would be a nice addition if he plays back-up C seeing as we don't have a bench center really. I doubt Collier's the answer, but with Cato's effort I guess that's not much of a drop off.

I SAY...Let Cato and Othella go head to head for the starting Center position!!! Othella would smoke Cato!
And maybe, halfway through the season, when Cato figures out what hit him, Cato will come to his senses and realize that he got smoked by a center with heart...then, Cato would visit the Wizzard of Oz to get a heart...and when he gets to Oz, The Wizzard of Oz won't be a real wizzard... and he'll tell Cato that he had a heart all along...and Cato will leave Oz in a balloon...and Cato will come back to the team and all the ranch hands will be suuroundig him in his bed...and Cato will say, "There's no place like Compaq Center"..."There's no place like Compaq Center.....:D

bob kemp is such an ingrate!! His info is typically solid as far as the grapevine goes (couldn't be any more random than peter"warwick" vecsey,) but he's just obnoxious. Could you have anyone more bitter and condescending on the radio? Probably not. Maybe that's why he's got that cushy graveyard shift, when hardly anyone is listening anyway.

Personally, i always liked othella. I think he brings some experience, a decent offensive low post offense, and good rebounding skills. I would love to see him in a rox uni again with our current roster.

Rudy is big on spacing. The new rules help defeat a lot of the things he wants to do like using the iso against a weak defender. Teams can't slack off of Rice. They can't slack off of Taylor. Teams can't slack off of Mobley. Francis is never left alone. So to bring help, teams are going to have to depend on the center to back up everyone. I am so going to get flamed for this....Cato is one of the best at scoring in the paint when he is unguarded or his defender is preoccupied.

Rice, in my opinion, will help slow down a lot of the gimmicks I expect teams to throw at the rockets this season.

back to topic...Othella would be able to help. I'd say he's worth more than KT, Langhi, the Raptors #1 (or is it back to being Seattle's?). I remember making a gentlemen's bet when Barkley went down in which I said Othella would out score Pippen.....we called it a draw after four or five games.
